Scope of learning and responsibilities:
- Review of contract specifications and prepare technical queries, clarification, and deviation.
- Preparation of P & IDs coordinating with Process Engineering and covering the technical requirement and scope of work.
- Preparation of Instrument Specification Sheets for Control valves, Shut off valves, Transmitters/ Analyzers, and sensors.
- Guiding the drafting team for preparation of Hook-up Drawing, Cable Block Diagram, junction box and panel general arrangement and wiring diagram.
- Preparation of Bill of material for Hook-up Drawing, Erection hardware for cable etc.
- Preparation of Material requisition/RFQs for junction boxes, Cables and hardware, local control panels, BMS PLC and pipe racks.
- Preparation of deliverables like utility list, I/O list, Instrument Index, Cable Schedule, Junction Box termination details.
- Co-ordination with Mech Engineering/Piping discipline for finalization of 3D model and Layout drawings for the package.
- Participate the 3D model reviews.
- Vendor based offer evaluation and technical closure.
- Review of vendor post order documentation.
- Participating in Kick of Meetings with Customer.
- Participating the Hazop and SIL review meetings.
- Conducing the Factory acceptance test (FAT) of the BMS PLC, SKIDs and instrumentation.
- Co-ordinating with drafting team to prepare instrument location layout, cable tray layouts and earthing layouts etc.
- Working closely with Global offices to co-ordinate Engineering of various projects, share the issues proactively and help complete the jobs on time.
- Co-ordination with process team to prepare control narratives, Cause and Effect Charts and BMS logic diagrams.
- Co-ordination with Customer for technical closure of drawings and deliverables, demonstrating knowledge and negotiation skills.
- Preparation of Budget Estimate for the instrumentation and controls Engineering, maintaining a good track of the same.
- Reporting any possible overruns to projects/management on time and get it resolved ahead of the schedule.
- Helping Sales team during pre-bid stage, preparation of Bill of Material, Technical Queries.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Desired Knowledge and Skills:
- Candidate must have worked on Design and Detailed Engineering of Oil and Gas projects, preferably combustion systems.
- Must have worked independently on at least two projects from concept to design.
- Well versed with Hazardous area classification and protection methods as per NEC and IEC.
- Knowledge of NFPA 85 and NFPA 86 standards.
- Must be able to read, interpret and apply project piping classes.
- Conversant with Safety instrument levels (SIL) and SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems) as per IEC 61508, IEC 61511.
- Must be conversant with sizing and selection of Control Valves (FCI 70-2) and Flow Elements (ISO 5167).
- Must be able to apply Close loops controls for various application.
- Knowledge and understanding of ISA S 5.1, S5.2, S5.4, S5.5
- Selection and sizing of Shut off Valves.
- Selection of Material of construction as per ASME standards, selection of wetted parts based on application.
- Selection of Sensors and /or transmitters for pressure, temperature, flow, level, pH and conductivity.
- Conversant with Sizing and selection of various volumetric and mass flow meters.
- Knowledge of design and testing standards for valves as per API RP550, 551, 554 and 598.
- Experience of conducing Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of PLC Systems and SKIDs is desirable.
- Experience of attending HAZOP and SIL review sessions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Be a team player, open to ideas / challenges and share the knowledge proactively
You would be a great fit if you had:
- B.E./B.Tech degree in Instrumentation Engineering.
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience working in controls and instrumentation, preferably within industrial applications related to thermal oxidizers, incinerators, or similar combustion systems.
- Understanding to select, size, and specify process instruments, including temperature, pressure, flow, and level instrumentation, in accordance with engineering standards.
