"Everforth ECS is seeking a CI/CD Pipeline Engineer to work in the National Capital Region covering the Pentagon, Falls Church, and Fairfax. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
The War Data Platform (WDP) is a key initiative within the U.S. Department of War's (DoW) AI-First strategy introduced in early 2026. The WDP focuses on operational warfighting data and aims to accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) on the battlefield. The WDP extends to Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret environments, and supports collaboration between Combatant Commands, Joint Staff directorates, Senior Executive Service leaders, and operational analysts.
The CI/CD Pipeline Engineer is a mid-level DevSecOps professional responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving the automated integration and delivery pipelines that underpin the WDP's AI/ML model lifecycle, sustaining the DevSecOps engineering throughput that executes hundreds of build and deployment events per quarter across WDP platform services and AI/ML capabilities. This role operates at the intersection of software delivery engineering, automated security enforcement, and AI/ML operations, embedding security controls and validation checks at every pipeline stage to ensure compliant, reliable, and mission-ready model releases across enterprise enclaves.
• Builds, operates, and advances unclassified-first continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines supporting automated scanning, packaging, and deployment of artificial intelligence and machine learning model artifacts for War Data Platform (WDP) Core Integration mission environments.
• Implements pipeline components using GitLab CI, Argo Workflows, Kubernetes, container scanning platforms, software composition analysis tools, and automated artifact-handling utilities supporting approximately ten to twenty model or service releases per month across two to four pipeline streams.
• Applies deployment standards, release patterns, and structured integration checks aligned with War Data Platform (WDP) Core Integration engineering requirements to maintain reliability, performance consistency, and readiness of model-serving services.
• Executes test and evaluation workflow integrations, incorporating automated validation steps that detect vulnerabilities, integration bottlenecks, and configuration deviations before artifacts enter production.
• Builds automated endpoint configurations and proxy patterns that expose models through secure application programming interfaces for customers across enterprise enclaves.
• Supports cross-domain promotion activities by preparing artifact manifests, validating metadata fidelity, and coordinating release actions with senior engineering teams.
• Monitors pipeline execution metrics, job durations, failure patterns, and resource utilization trends to identify improvement opportunities and implement incremental performance optimizations.
• Conducts troubleshooting and Tier-3 support for deployment-related issues, configuration discrepancies, and automated workflow errors within model-serving pipelines.
• Produces technical documentation, runbooks, release notes, and operational support artifacts enabling consistent pipeline operations and accelerated integration of emerging artificial intelligence models into the War Data Platform (WDP) Core Integration operational environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Current Secret security clearance.
• 3–10 years of experience in DevSecOps engineering, CI/CD pipeline development, or a closely related field, with demonstrated hands-on proficiency designing and managing automated build, test, and deployment workflows in enterprise or defense environments.
• DoW 8140/8570 IAM Level II baseline certification, satisfied by one of the following active credentials: ISC² CISSP, ISACA CISM, CompTIA CASP+ CE, or GIAC GSLC.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate solution.
• Highly developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively and professionally interact with a diverse set of stakeholders (from peers to end-users to executive management).
Skills Required
- 3-10 years of experience in DevSecOps engineering or CI/CD pipeline development
- Current Secret security clearance
