Passionately supports the core values and goals of the church by providing quality, spiritual-nurturing large group experiences for children in all departments (infants – 5th grade) during all children’s weekend services, children’s mid-week program, and special events that will enable children to grow in their passion for God and compassion for people. Responsible for building and equipping a core team of creative individuals who would partner and provide support throughout the Children’s Ministry environments, specifically in roles that pertain to the ministry’s Large Group experiences.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Ministry Coordinator, oversee the operation of ministry teams in relation to storytelling, stage hosting, and children’s worship. Lead, mentor, and develop both student leaders and adult lay-leaders as you evaluate the health and success of the ministry and deliver feedback to supervisor. May be responsible to monitor and oversee a ministry budget. Collaborate with other ministry teams when appropriate. Responsible for cascading communication to next levels in the ministry.
Coordinate and produce large group service for all weekend services as well as mid-week services and special events. Create and oversee the distribution of all materials needed for servant leaders to lead the large group service portion of the services. This includes, but not limited to writing scripts, designing themed stages, planning worship songs, and recording teaching videos. Coordinate rehearsals and provide instruction for children, juniors and adults to help them understand worship as a lifestyle. Lead the storytellers, host, and speakers to teach biblical truths in a creative, kid-friendly way. Collaborate with Department Leads and the other Department Coordinators for weekend services, mid-week programming, and events including (but not limited to) VBS, camps, and summer events. Partner with and assist other campuses with developing an amazing WOL Kids large group service experience that reflects the culture of the Fontana campus.
Build the teams necessary for the production department to run smoothly and effectively. Recruit, train, equip, schedule, oversee, empower and retain all Children’s Ministry production volunteers including, but not limited to, worship leaders, musicians, creative teams, actors, stage design team, volunteer supervisors and storytellers from infants-5th grade. Provide prayer and support for adult and junior leaders. Communicate and promote an understanding of the philosophy of ministry and core values of Water of Life Community Church.
Program Development – Oversee the development of the production of Large Group in WOL Kids to meet the needs of children within the Early Childhood and Elementary Departments, along with mid-week programming. Evaluate programs and recommend improvements. Ensure that all aspects of the mid-week and weekend large group programs run smoothly. Ensure that all deadlines are met in a timely manner. Work with department staff to build and enhance the program function. This includes designing and developing new materials, researching, contacting other organizations for resources or ideas, participating in development of large group curriculum and training products. Provide input and collaboration for methods to disciple student leaders and children serving within the Creative Department. This includes Sunday morning Creative Team devotionals and Kids Worship Team practice overviews with discipleship. Assist with the planning and execution of all general session training events, recruiting campaigns, and other “All-In” WOL Kids ministry functions.
Provide creative elements for all WOL Kids events and programming. Help design and produce stage sets, props, and costumes for weekends, mid-week and special events. Introduce/implement other works of literature, film, or media into presentations, create and oversee the distribution of costumes, props, and scenery. Create and utilize digital resources, films and assist with stage dramatizations. Collaborate with Communications Department.
Provide administrative support including sending communications, scheduling, inventory tracking, social media updates, database, routine cleaning/maintenance of equipment/storage area, ordering supplies, etc. May prepare material for program using a variety of methods, including social media tools, Canva, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher. Other duties as assigned.
Spiritual Growth - Participate in “All-In” events, Prayer Mountain, Spiritual Growth Check List, etc. Other duties as assigned.
• Ideally 1 year’s experience coordinating ministry/volunteers with the ability to recruit, lead, train and supervise volunteers
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience in theatre arts and musical background a plus
• Knowledge of target population
• Intermediate knowledge of office technology tools including web-based, Facebook, Instagram, MS Office, Publisher and database use
• Friendly, flexible, able to multitask, enjoys working with all kinds of people
• Able to work flexible hours, be available on evenings and weekends as program requires
