In essence, your role involves:
The Chief of Staff (CoS) to the Executive Board is a high-impact role that supports the CEO (primary) and the CCO (secondary) to translate priorities into execution across the organization. The CoS acts as a trusted advisor and execution partner—driving delivery on actions, decision discipline, and follow-through in our fast-paced, global environmental commodities environment.
Support and advisory
- Support the CEO and Executive Board in executing decisions - incl. change management - made in light of our corporate strategy, growth initiatives, and transformation programs.
- Support the CCO in driving Commercial / Sales Excellence and related change initiatives.
- Conduct analyses and translate insights into clear recommendations.
- Prepare decision memos, scenario analyses, and executive/Board briefing materials.
Execution & operating rhythm
- Drive execution and systematic follow-up on CEO/Executive Board priorities; ensure ownership, timelines, and closure.
- Track decisions and actions from Executive Board and senior leadership meetings; surface blockers and escalate as needed to maintain momentum.
- Ensure CEO readiness for key internal/external meetings (briefing packs, talking points, pre-reads, debriefs and follow-up actions).
- Orchestrate Executive Committee and CLT agendas, offsites, and operating cadence to improve leadership team effectiveness.
Stakeholder & transformation
- Act as an extension of the CEO in select interactions; manage sensitive/confidential topics with discretion.
- Lead time-critical special projects (e.g., acquisitions, new market entry, performance improvement, ESG/sustainability initiatives; post-merger integration support where applicable).
Your Expertise:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:
- 10 years in one or more of: (strategy) consulting, investment banking/private equity/energy finance, commodities trading/financial markets, or corporate strategy/transformation/CEO office roles.
- Experience working closely with C-suite or Board-level stakeholders.
- Track record of owning outcomes (not just analysis) and driving results..
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; strong financial and commercial acumen.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, executive-level insights; strong written and verbal communication.
- Influencing, collaboration, and stakeholder management across senior leaders.
- High learning agility; resilience and organization in a high-pressure, multi-priority environment; strong judgment, integrity, and discretion.
