You will enjoy this job if you:
- Want to work in fast-paced start-up environment, prioritizing growth over short-term gains
- Like to work independently, as well as collaboratively with team members in other sub-teams
- Have a positive learning mindset, and can quickly absorb knowledge to overcome challenges
- Can assess risk and make time-critical decisions/tradeoffs in imperfect scenarios
Your Role
We're looking for a Chief of Staff to work directly with the CEO, CTO and leadership team to drive execution across the company. This is a high-leverage, cross-functional role for someone who can move fluidly between strategy and detail — translating priorities into action across engineering, operations, and commercial teams, and making sure the most important things actually get done, on time, and to the standard the business needs.
You'll act as a force multiplier for leadership: running point on key initiatives, closing gaps between teams, and building the operating rhythm (planning, reporting, decision-making) that lets a fast-growing hardware and services company scale without losing speed or discipline.
Your Job Scope
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on strategic planning, prioritization, and follow-through — turning decisions into clearly owned action items and tracking them to completion.
- Run cross-functional initiatives that span engineering (mechanical, electrical, software), manufacturing/production, field operations, and commercial teams, keeping them on schedule and unblocked.
- Own the company's operating cadence — leadership meetings, OKRs/goal tracking, board and investor reporting, and all-hands communications.
- Act as a trusted proxy for the CEO in selecting internal and external conversations, ensuring consistent messaging and follow-up.
- Identify and close operational gaps — process, tooling, or communication breakdowns between teams (e.g., between engineering and the commercial/inspection services side of the business).
- Drive special projects as they arise — new market entry, hiring plans, vendor or partner negotiations, tooling/automation initiatives, and process design.
- Build systems and reporting that give leadership real-time visibility into what matters — project status, budgets, hiring, and delivery timelines.
- Prepare materials for board meetings, investor updates, and key client or partner conversations.
Desired Qualities
- 4+ years of experience in a Chief of Staff, management consulting, business operations, program management, or similar high-ownership role — ideally in a startup, hardware, robotics, or engineering-driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex, cross-functional workstreams simultaneously without dropping details.
- Strong written and verbal communication — comfortable distilling technical and commercial information for different audiences, from engineers to investors.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity, with the judgment to know when to escalate and when to just get something done.
- Analytical and structured thinker — able to build frameworks, dashboards, and processes from scratch.
- Experience or genuine interest in hardware/robotics, marine/subsea technology, or deep-tech businesses is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with tools like ClickUp, or workflow/automation platforms (e.g. n8n), is a plus given how BeeX runs its internal operations.
- Bias toward action and high ownership — this role exists to make sure things happen, not just to track that they should.
Nice to have:
- Prior experience in a company that builds physical hardware and also delivers a service on top of it.
- Exposure manufacturing operations, supply chain, or field/crewed operations.
- Experience supporting fundraising processes or investor relations.
Remuneration Package
- Market competitive salary
- Growth opportunities that align with your direct ability in helping the company, rather than an arbitrary corporate ladder
- ESOP / equity participation
- Healthcare support
- Special access to industry events
- Well-stocked pantry with nice snacks
- Support for skills upgrading / learning credits
