Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief of Staff is an integral member of the leadership team with a focus on driving executive priorities to achieve business results. This role is responsible for prioritizing, communicating, organizing, and making independent decisions that turn strategic plans into actionable steps. This role will be the focal point for coordinating Availity’s executive leadership operations and operating cadence on a year-by-year, quarter-by-quarter, and month-by-month basis, including critical aspects of Board of Managers engagement. The Chief of Staff will also be tasked with direct ownership of key strategic initiatives designed for enterprise-wide impact.
 

Availity is seeking a versatile high performer with a passion for healthcare who can work collaboratively with Availity staff and stakeholders to plan and monitor the enterprise leadership activities in coordination with the CEO. This leader would draw upon experience from roles of increasing responsibility in a management consulting firm, or equivalent – with expertise in strategy development, data analysis, operational improvement, and project management. The Chief of Staff must have strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) and a clear understanding of how to use the role and associated influence to increase the overall effectiveness and clock-speed of the Availity team.

To be qualified for this position you:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in strategy development, operational improvement, and project management, including leadership experience, directly managing a team
  • Consulting experience is preferred
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities to drive execution of key initiatives
  • Strong executive presence with excellent presentation and consultative skills
  • Ability to take complex topics and distill key messages to a variety of constituents with meaningful impact and alignment

You will be:

  • Providing direct support to the CEO for key initiatives, priorities, and responsibilities. Chief of Staff responsibilities include thought partnership, KPI tracking, written material development, key meeting facilitation, stakeholder management, etc.
  • Directly leading key strategic initiatives and work streams in support of Availity’s strategy
  • Collaborate with Chief Strategy Officer on the annual and long-term strategy as well as ad hoc business unit strategic planning
  • Ensuring Availity Executive Leadership Team and Department Heads are successfully tracking toward completion of all Corporate and Departmental goals
  • Supporting CEO, COO, Board Chairman, Board Secretary, and Board Committee Chairs in the development and execution of Board agendas, meeting preparation, and orchestration; attend quarterly and ad-hoc board meetings, ensuring seamless execution
  • Supporting the productivity of the Executive Leadership team by distilling executive discussions and thoughts into next steps and accountabilities
  • Owning and continuously improving executive team meeting operations (framing, facilitation, follow- up, communication, etc.)
