Job Description

We're hiring a Sr. Director, Business Operations & Strategy (Chief of Staff) to work directly with the President of Legal Professionals during a period of rapid product and market change. This is a high-trust, high-impact role for an operator who can move between strategy and execution without losing speed in either direction.

The Chief of Staff makes the President and the leadership team more focused and more effective. That means driving the strategic agenda, running the operating rhythm that keeps the business aligned, and staying close enough to every partner function to represent the President’s priorities accurately for executive, board, and customer audiences. This is not a role built around managing a calendar. It's built around making sure the right things get decided, communicated, and followed through on.

Key Responsibilities

As the Chief of Staff, you will:

  • Strategic Agenda Ownership & Cross Functional Representation: Drive the President's top priorities from idea to result. Run a tight operating rhythm built around two-week cycles and immediate priorities. The job is to know what needs to happen now and make sure it happens.
  • Execution on Behalf of the President: Represent the President in internal and external settings where appropriate, ensuring continuity of message, tone, and intent. Carry forward directives and initiatives with discretion and authority.
  • Enablement and Follow-Through: Own preparation and follow-up for board, customer, partner, and internal leadership meetings. Track action items to completion, especially with critical partners and customers.
  • Trusted Strategic Partner: Act as a sounding board for the President. Anticipate needs, unlock decisions, and push back with informed perspective when it's warranted.
  • Data and Decision Support: Interpret the metrics that matter to the business, rather than relying solely on qualitative synthesis from others. Bring structured, evidence-based thinking to ambiguous problems.
  • Meeting and Travel Participation: Accompany the President on major trips and high-priority meetings. Capture decisions, drive alignment, and track next steps to closure.
  • Organizational Intelligence: Build trusted relationships across the organization. Surface risks and opportunities early, and create feedback loops that support good decision-making and healthy culture.
  • Communications and Content: Partner with communications, investor relations, and PR to shape the President's messaging. Own the agenda and materials for leadership and segment meetings.
  • Team Building:  As the role and its scope grow, help identify, hire, and onboard additional talent to support the President's office.

Required Qualifications

You are a fit for the Chief of Staff if you have:

  • 5-10+ years in commercial, business operations, management consulting, or a strategic operator role, ideally in a fast-moving, technically driven business
  • Demonstrated success as a Chief of Staff or equivalent high-impact operator supporting a senior executive
  • Enough technical and product fluency to work closely with engineering and product teams
  • Relentless follow-through and systems thinking; dropped balls are not acceptable
  • Sound judgment and discretion with sensitive and confidential matters
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, with the ability to influence executive stakeholders
  • Structured problem-solving in ambiguous, fast-changing situations
  • Internally driven, with a willingness to do work at any level of scope
  • Ability to travel periodically with the President and adapt to shifting priorities in real time

What This Role Offers

As Chief of Staff, you'll gain experience and skills through:

  • A high-visibility role shaping the effectiveness of senior leadership during a pivotal stage of growth in legal AI
  • Direct exposure to executive decision-making, customer relationships, and strategic initiatives
  • A front-row seat to how a global public company builds and scales an AI-driven business
  • A track record in this role that has historically led to operational leadership opportunities

Preferred Qualifications

  • N/A
