We are looking for a Chief of Staff full-time (40 hours/week) at our Berlin HQ - minimum in office 4 days per week.
This position reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the Executive Team. This role is designed for someone early in their leadership journey, with prior experience in top-tier consulting or prior Chief of Staff/Strategy roles at scale-ups, who is ready to combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
You will act as a structured problem solver, project driver, and alignment partner across the organisation. From supporting board and investor materials, to running exec meeting cadences, to leading special projects, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring leadership time is focused on what matters most.
This is a highly visible role, offering exposure to the full spectrum of strategic and operational challenges in a fast-moving environment, and a springboard into future leadership positions.
🎯 What you will contribute:
- Strategic Support:
- Work directly with the CEO to set priorities, structure problems, and track progress against company-wide goals.
- Prepare board packs, investor updates, and exec materials in collaboration with the CEO, CCO, CFO, and leadership team.
- Provide clear analysis and insights to enable sound executive decision-making.
- Execution & Alignment:
- Run the rhythm of leadership: weekly exec, monthly, and quarterly leadership meetings - driving agendas, capturing actions, and ensuring follow-up.
- Lead cross-functional special projects (e.g., cost programmes, partner initiatives, SKU simplification) that cut across multiple teams.
- Track company and functional OKRs, ensuring accountability and visibility.
- Leadership Effectiveness:
- Help the CEO and Exec Team stay focused on the highest-value activities.
- Step in as a delegate for operational follow-ups and internal communication when needed.
- Support internal communications to ensure clarity, alignment, and cultural consistency.
- Flexibility in a Fast-Moving Company:
- Be ready to flex between high-level analysis (board-level materials, strategy) and hands-on execution (chasing actions, PMO-style project tracking).
- Show adaptability in a fast-changing environment with occasional support required outside of normal office hours (e.g., board deadlines, investor updates).
🤝 What you bring:
- Background: ~4-5 years at a top-tier consulting firm, or equivalent, Head of Strategy/Chief of Staff, or key strategic role in a high-growth scale-up.
- Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Ability to structure complex problems and develop thoughtful, pragmatic solutions.
- Operational Excellence: Strong project management skills, driving initiatives from concept to execution with measurable outcomes.
- Executive Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills, confident in preparing and presenting material for board and investor audiences.
- EQ and Influence: Trusted partner who can build relationships, influence without authority, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Hands-on Attitude: Willingness to dive into detail, chase follow-ups, and make things happen when ambiguity is high.
- Growth Mindset: Curious, open to feedback, and eager to learn in a challenging but rewarding environment.
- Languages: Fluency in English required; this role is based in our Berlin office, and German skills are highly preferred for working with German-based vendors, partners, and stakeholders.

What We Do
Grover is Europe’s market leader in technology rentals, enabling people to subscribe to tech products monthly instead of buying them. Founded in 2015 by Michael Cassau, Grover’s mission is to create the most innovative ways for everyone – both private customers and businesses – to get the tech they want.
With Grover, subscribers get access to a wide range of over 3,000 tech products, including smartphones, laptops, virtual reality (VR) gear, wearables and smart home appliances on a flexible monthly rental basis. Grover’s service allows its users to keep, switch, buy, or return products depending on their individual needs and budget. Grover is a pioneer in the advancement of the Circular Economy and the number of circulations has been over 500,000 devices. Its business model of renting out tech products to several users across their life cycle allows maximum value to be extracted from each product and reduces e-waste. With a total financing volume of around €1.4bn, and 400+ employees, Grover is one of Germany’s best-funded scale-ups.
