Purpose
The Chief of Staff, Covaris will play a pivotal role in supporting the Covaris CEO and executive leadership team in driving the company’s strategic initiatives to successful launch / expansion and commercialization. This role serves as a driver of both analytics and execution, a project manager, and point of coordination across departments, ensuring seamless execution of strategic initiatives and other key projects. The Chief of Staff will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, managing executive priorities, and facilitating communication and collaboration across the organization with respect to the strategic initiatives and broader business optimization.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Initiatives with Focus on New Product Commercialization
- Partner with the CEO and SVP of Technology & Innovation on driving strategic initiatives to accelerate company growth from development through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership.
- Advance commercialization efforts for new products and offerings, including:
- developing logical market segmentation and sizing
- formulating and honing segment value proposition
- performing market mapping and competitive analysis
- setting appropriate price strategies
- supporting sales and BD teams on developing and executing tailored go-to-market approaches per segment
- Shepherd the initiatives through the stage gate approval process
- Perform analytics to support business cases and sub-initiatives
- Synthesize data, trends, and insights to support executive decision-making. Lead or assist in the preparation of reports, proposals, and strategic documents for the executive team.
- Closely coordinate and project manage strategic initiative execution in cross-functional teams and act as central point of contact across Covaris with respect to the initiatives
- Drive strategic partnerships that underpin the initiatives
- Support translation of operational plans into financial forecasts for the initiatives
- Report out progress and facilitate problem-solving at the Value Creation Office level
- Operational Value Creation
- Partner with other members of the Value Creation Office team at PerkinElmer across multiple workstreams (Pricing, Consumables, Field Services, etc.) to understand, adapt and implement operational improvements to replicate the successes and avoid pitfalls of the work done by the VCO to date
- Partner with Covaris business stakeholders to drive initiative design, execution, and monitoring
- Measure and track execution, continuously analyzing performance, developing and implementing corrective actions where required
- Continuously identify additional and adjacent sources of value and stand up workstreams to drive value capture as required
- Change Management and Stakeholder Communication
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal Covaris teams, relevant PerkinElmer colleagues, and external partners.
- Facilitate effective communication between leadership and all levels of the organization.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in a leadership or operational role within the life sciences or technology industries, or similar tenure in a leading management consulting firm
- Demonstrated track record of value creation and leading cross-functional projects to success
- Strong understanding of business strategy, with the ability to translate strategic goals and challenges into practical solutions with operational execution.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- High emotional intelligence (EQ), with the ability to work well with diverse personalities and build relationships at all levels.
