Chief Powerhouse Supervisor

About the role

The Powerhouse Supervisor’s primary responsibility is focused on operation and maintenance of the powerhouse, water treatment plant and site utility distribution. This position will coordinate the CCP/Boiler operations team and ensure alignment and compliance with Technical Safety Authority Saskatchewan (TSASK).

What will you do?

  • Coordinate boiler and water treatment plant inspections and maintenance with government authorities and maintenance departments.

  • Make recommendations to improve and assist in maintaining safety, training, quality, cost and production goals.

  • Oversee and coordinate the operation of the powerhouse, water treatment plant and utilities distribution.

  • Lead by example, promoting a strong safety culture among team members.

  • Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks.

  • Collaborate with safety professionals to implement best practices.

  • Utilize safety tools such as FLHA (Field-Level Hazard Assessment) audits, LEGO’s and workplace audits to identify and mitigate risks.

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols during all phases of production.

  • Champion environmental initiatives within the site.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.

  • Promote waste reduction, energy efficiency, and responsible resource management.

  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize production processes.

  • Conduct regular field visits to observe operations firsthand.

  • Address any safety or environmental concerns promptly.

  • Engage with front-line workers to understand their challenges and provide support.

What do you need for this role?

  • High School Diploma/GED required.

  • High School/GED required.

  • Power Engineer 2nd Class

  • Power Engineer 1st Class -Saskatchewan Institute of Applied – preferred

  • Level 3 Water Treatment Certification

  • Maintenance experience

  • SAP experience 

  • Microsoft Office Suite experience 

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a diverse team.

  • Familiarity with FLHA audits and other safety tools.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

  • Employment is subject to successfully completing Mosaic's pre-employment checks including criminal, drug, and alcohol testing.

  • Must be authorized to work in Canada.

  • Advanced English proficiency required
