Overview: A prominent copper mining operation based in Arizona is currently seeking an experienced Plant Engineering Superintendent. This pivotal role is responsible for supervising and enhancing the functionality and safety of critical process equipment and infrastructure, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with the company Safety and Environmental Policies and Engineering standards.
Responsibilities:

- Develop and manage the annual Engineering CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
- Manage and continuously improve the structural integrity and asset health programs for all fixed assets, utilities, and site-wide infrastructure.
- Lead the evaluation and optimization of complex fluid networks—including Water, Raffinate, PLS, Acid, and Tailings—to improve throughput and identify energy-saving opportunities.
- Work closely with Maintenance and Operations departments to provide high-level troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and continuous process improvement.
- Accountable for projects KPIs, focusing on rigorous cost control, schedule adherence, risk mitigation, and technical quality assurance.
- Oversee projects lifecycle including drafting RFPs, selecting and managing engineering firms and construction contractors.
- Mentor and support the professional development of junior engineering staff.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert guidance and advice on operational processes and compliance issues to the site management team.
- Execute strategic initiatives and duties as required by management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in the mining sector or a related heavy industrial environment, with a proven track record of leading engineering teams and projects.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and changing business needs, along with a strong aptitude for innovative problem-solving and strategic operational improvements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of mentoring junior engineers and effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
