Saint Francis Chief Information Officer serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team. The Saint Francis Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides direct leadership and oversight for the Information Technology department. Responsible for maintaining and improving the organization’s internal technological processes and systems as a way of maximizing company productivity and making complex tasks more achievable through automation. Ensures that technological functionality supports the overall strategic vision of the organization.
Provides Executive Leadership & Governance serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership and the board; participates in enterprise risk and planning conversations; translates technology risks and opportunities into business terms; and supports governance across technology, data, and security
Creates and supports business value through the implementation of technological systems.
Develop strategic plans that outline the direction of future business growth.
Set objectives, performance metrics and procedures that lead to achieving business goals.
Overseas Enterprise Technology & Risk Leadership: aligns technology with the mission, growth, and risk of the organization; brings IT, cybersecurity, data, and digital efforts into a shared direction; and ensures technological decisions lead to clear, measurable outcomes
Responsible for Cybersecurity & Risk Management: owns the direction of cybersecurity across the organization; accountable for how we manage and reduce cyber risk; oversees incident response planning, testing, and readiness; aligns controls with insurance, regulatory, and audit expectations; and ensures monitoring, detection, and response capabilities are in place
Ensures Third-Party & Vendor Risk Management: establishes expectations for vendor security and compliance; evaluates and monitors third-party risk; and ensures vendor relationships align with organizational standards
Responsible for Data Governance & Privacy establishes a clear and practical approach to data governance; defines how data is classified, retained, and protected; ensures the organization meets privacy expectations and obligations; and partners with legal and compliance on data-related risk and response
Ensures Technology Compliance, Audit & Assurance maintains the IT control environment that supports audits (SOC, ITGC, etc.); ensures alignment with regulatory and contractual expectations; maintains documentation and evidence supporting our controls; and works alongside auditors and insurers to validate our approach
Ensures Digital Transformation & Innovation identifies and implements technologies that move the organization forward; supports automation and process improvement where it adds value; partners with leadership to improve how services are delivered through technology; and evaluates emerging tools such as AI and analytics in a thoughtful way
Direct and oversee the development, design and integration of applications and platforms.
Guides the IT department in the development of technology applications, project, and future budgets.
Leads efficient operation of the IT team so that prompt modernization and upgrades of IT are performed as needed.
Collaborate with members of the executive team to identify ways IT can assist the company in achieving business and financial goals.
Identifies new IT developments and technologies; anticipates resulting organizational modifications.
Ensures that IT and network infrastructure adequately support the company’s computing, data processing, and communications needs.
Develop and implement the IT budget.
Communicates goals, projects, and timelines of the company to the department; plans ways to execute those goals within the department.
Establishes long-term IT needs and plans and develops strategies for developing systems and acquiring software and hardware necessary to meet those needs.
Assists as top-level contact for end users in determining IT requirements and/or solutions.
Ensures compliance with government regulations that apply to systems operations.
Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, or Information Technology required.
At least 10 years of experience in administration of information systems and technology, with increasing level of responsibility throughout.
10 years’ experience within Information Technology field.
5 years’ experience at the director or above level.
Microsoft certified.
Certified as: information systems security professional, cloud security professional, and information security manager.
Project Management Professional (preferred).
Must be 21 years of age.
Must pass a drug screen, KBI, MVR, and Child Abuse and Neglect Central Register Clearance check.
Must have a valid KS driver’s license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
Lifting Requirement of 30 – 50 Pounds.
Skills Required
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Information Technology
