The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, planning, and operations of the firm. This role partners closely with executive leadership to ensure financial integrity, long-term sustainability, regulatory compliance, and informed decision-making across the organization.

Salary

$250,000-$350,000 annually

We are looking for a high-performing executive who can help the firm’s Managing Partner and executive leadership team guide the firm into the future through strategic financial advice; timely and accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting; strong risk management and compliance; and the innovative use of AI and technology to promote healthy growth, operational efficiency, and profitability.

Specific Tasks

  • Develop and execute the firm’s financial strategy aligned with organizational goals
  • Collaborate with and communicate effectively to executive leadership and partners to support strategic initiatives and cost controls
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
  • Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements
  • Oversee management and compliance of client trust accounts (IOLTA), ensuring adherence to all applicable legal and ethical standards
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and capital planning
  • Oversee payroll, benefits funding, and compensation planning
  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks
  • Lead and develop the finance and accounting team
  • Oversee financial systems, internal controls, and process improvements
  • Collaborate with and communicate effectively to executive leadership and partners to support strategic initiatives and cost controls

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
  • Experience in professional services or legal industry preferred
  • Experience managing IOLTA (Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts) and client trust accounting strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Expertise in regulatory compliance and risk management
  • Advanced analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities

Additional Information

This role may require occasional travel and participation in executive or board-level meetings.
