As a key member of the executive team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a strategic business partner and be responsible for oversight of the Finance functions within the organization. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial activities of the Firm including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting and treasury. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Build, develop and lead a strong finance department. Ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the accounting and finance functions through direct supervision and overall goal setting for the department.
  • Serve as key business partner and contributor to growth strategies, business development programs and long-range planning, ensuring that current revenue-generating strategies create Firm value. Prepare special analyses/evaluations in support of major business decisions
  • Ensure that standardized financial management policies and procedures are in place and followed; Evaluate internal controls and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Collaboratively develop operating policies and procedures and improvement programs for the achievement of business objectives.
  • Build and maintain primary banking relationships. Coordinate the reconciliation of all cash accounts, including client funded accounts and provide investment oversight, including cash management.
  • Direct annual budget process. Oversee short-and long-term financial health of organization. Provide financial guidance to management on budgetary controls, costs, pricing, cost estimating or other special assignments.
  • Provide strategic fiscal planning to offer a basis for future decision-making in the organization, including future expansion.
  • Present financial, legal and other operational issues to the Senior Management and Firm Advisory Board.
  • Review employee benefit plans and annual renewal analysis.
  • Oversee the Firm’s agreements, contracts and engagement letters with respect to legal requirements, proposed modifications and risk identification.
  • Coordinate filing of tax return and ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and documentation in compliance with statutory requirements and policies. Manage the financial tax and local reporting and ensure that it is timely and accurate. Preparation of annual K-1 tax worksheets/schedules and coordinate with external auditors for annual benefit plan reviews.
  • Evaluate growth strategies, including finance structures, M&A opportunities, and other capital financing alternatives.

Qualifications: 

  • BS in Accounting, Finance or Business required. 
  • CPA certification or MBA degree is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 20 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 10 years of experience at the executive level.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the professional services industry.
  • M&A and Capital Financing experience preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP platform valued.
  • Experience overseeing a multiple office environment preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong appreciation for procedure, process and operational excellence.
  • Excellent presentation skills; strong executive presence and public speaking ability.
  • Strong network of external professional contacts.
  • Ability to write accurately and succinctly.
