We are searching for a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the Accounting/Finance, Payroll, and HRIS departments for the organization. The leadership team seeks a strategic partner who will help execute the strategic plan by leading key organizational projects.
The ideal candidate will contribute to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing all financial tasks. The CFO is an executive-level strategic position for a responsible finance and administrative professional, responsible for the successful, timely, and accurate operations of the accounting, finance, treasury, budget, payroll, accounts payable, and HRIS functions of the organization.
Position Summary:
Oversees the accounting/finance, and provides direct guidance to the VP of Finance regarding daily management, which includes: accounting systems and operations, payroll, accounts payable and HRIS tasks, and grant development to expand services. The CFO ensures that the financial systems are accurate, efficient, and in accordance with professional accounting practices, government regulations, and industry standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Accounting: Develop, implement and maintain an internal accounting system, with adequate procedures and controls. Oversee the annual evaluation of this system through the use of an external audit.
Payroll: Develop, implement and maintain an internal and integrated payroll and HRIS system.
Reporting and Communication: Report financial information in a timely and accurate manner, assist management in fiscal controls, and develop and maintain budget systems and tools.
Treasury: Develop and implement internal and integrated treasury management controls and help ensure adequate availability of funds through various sources.
Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement budgetary procedures, processes and result analysis.
Regulatory Compliance: Develop, implement and maintain accurate records for external reporting requirements to all outside agencies included by not limited to the Department of Revenue, Department of Labor, financial institutions, Department of Education, HUD, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Commerce, Department of Agriculture, Social Security Administration, local municipalities, etc.

Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills and ability to maintain strong relationships with external and internal partners.
Excellent leadership and time management skills with the ability to manage/ supervise others concurrently on multiple projects
You must be able to rapidly manage your team from the ground up and contribute to our systems and structures to ensure alignment, accountability and rapid results.
Project management: Able to develop and lead team-wide capacity to achieve goals. Able to make effective presentations and facilitate groups.
High Business Acumen
Education:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting Concentration and at least ten years of work experience in accounting required,
Master Degree in a related field preferred
Knowledge & Experience:
Knowledge of the principles, practice and methods of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and auditing.
Knowledge of systems and tool
Experience in planning and implementing systemic changes leading to greater productivity
Knowledge of regulations and legal requirements to maintain financial and informational integrity of the organization
Salary: commensurate with experience
License & Related Requirements
CPA required
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting concentration
- At least ten years of accounting work experience
- Master's degree in a related field
- Knowledge of GAAP principles, accounting practices, and auditing
- Knowledge of systems and tools
- Experience planning and implementing systemic changes that improve productivity
- Knowledge of regulations and legal requirements for financial and informational integrity
- CPA license
