Job Summary:
Under minimal supervision, manages the finance, accounting, and physician compensation functions for the company’s corporate offices and multiple related entities.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists in development of financial models for assessing strategic opportunities
- Evaluates capital alternatives and capital structures for existing and planned businesses
- Oversees accounting systems for multiple related entities
- Prepares financial statements
- Manages physician compensation program
- Assists in improving budgeting processes and budget compliance
- Assists in evaluating compensation and benefit plans
- Establishes and maintains cash controls and reconciles general ledgers and bank statements
- Provides assistance to the CAO in preparing the annual budgets
- Maintains the purchase order system
- Implements and adheres to the financial procedures and policies, and ensures that the rest of the organization adheres to them as well
- Supervises investments and cash reserve
- Monitors data entry systems and procedure
- Prepares and systematically maintains all supplier accounts
- Verifies charges and ensures security of all credit cards
- Classifies and maintains financial files and records, according to the year
- Works on the preparation of special reports and will assist in developing financial dashboards
- Reconciles accounts payable and accounts receivable and prepares journal summaries
- Maintains records pertaining to the financial system
- Oversees the purchase order functions
- Compiles source documents and reconciles source deposits
- Maintains filing systems, security systems of documents and insurance coverage
- Responds to customer and employee queries
- Reviews payroll reports
- Ensures proper documentation of the records and documents of new and existing employees in the accounting system
- Administers 401k benefit entitlements
- Verifies and reports on benefit payments
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education, Training & Experience
- B.A. in Accounting or Finance from a 4-year college or university required
- CPA and/or MBA in Accounting or Finance required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in healthcare finance and accounting, preferably in a medical group practice setting
- Experience with S Corp and LLC accounting and tax rules
- Experience with mergers and joint ventures
- Experience with developing financial models
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of the latest accounting and financial software, management systems and payroll procedures,
- Ability to verify and interpret financial data and records
- Strong attention to detail
- Great time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with the employees and management personnel of other departments
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to sit and keyboard for extended periods of time
- Some travel may be required
Skills Required
