Strategic Financial Management
- Develop and execute the
Bank’s financial strategy in alignment with its overall business goals
and Shariah compliance framework.
- Lead long-term financial
planning, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring consistency with AIB’s
objectives.
- Advise the CEO, Board, and
Management on financial implications of strategic decisions, investment
opportunities, and risk exposures.
Financial Reporting and Control
- Oversee timely and
accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and AAOIFI
(Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial
Institutions) standards.
- Ensure transparent and
Shariah-compliant disclosures in financial reporting to shareholders and
regulators.
- Maintain sound financial
controls and ensure proper accounting treatment of Islamic financial
transactions.
Shariah Governance Alignment
- Collaborate closely with
the Shariah Board and Internal Shariah Compliance team to ensure that
all financial practices, structures, and reporting comply with Shariah
principles.
- Ensure profit and loss
distribution mechanisms are calculated and administered in accordance
with approved Shariah guidelines.
Regulatory Compliance and Audit
- Ensure compliance with all
financial regulations issued by the central bank, tax authorities, and
other regulatory bodies.
- Liaise with internal and
external auditors, including Shariah auditors, to facilitate audits and
address findings promptly.
Treasury and Liquidity
Management
- Oversee treasury
operations including liquidity, capital adequacy, asset-liability
management, and investment strategies, ensuring alignment with Islamic
banking instruments.
- Monitor liquidity levels
to meet statutory liquidity requirements and avoid riba-based
instruments.
Cost and Capital Management
- Manage cost control and
drive financial efficiency initiatives across departments.
- Oversee capital adequacy
reporting and stress testing under Basel III and Islamic equivalents.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop
the finance team, promoting ethical conduct, transparency, and
professionalism.
- Foster a
performance-driven culture and enhance capacity building within the
finance function.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Islamic banking or related
field; Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- Professional
certification such as CIPA, CPA, CA, ACCA, CIBAFI or CFA is required.
- Strong
understanding of Islamic finance principles, AAOIFI standards, and
regulatory frameworks applicable to Islamic banking.
- Minimum
10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at
least 5 years in a senior finance role within an Islamic bank or financial
institution.
- In-depth
knowledge of Islamic banking products and financial instruments.
- Strong
leadership and strategic thinking skills.
- Advanced
analytical, budgeting, and financial modeling abilities.
- Excellent
communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Integrity,
accountability, and alignment with the ethical values of Islamic finance.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Islamic banking or related field

- Strong understanding of Islamic finance principles and AAOIFI standards
