This position plans, organizes, directs and supervises assigned activities of the department which are necessary in maintaining the physical structures, Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC), mechanical, electrical systems, utilities and grounds of the hospital in an operative and safe working condition. Accountable for planning and maintaining an effective organization, for administering labor and material controls, for training of maintenance personnel in safety and for effective management practices.Job Description:
EDUCATION:
- HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 4 years recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Computer skills and building automation systems experience required
- Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to organize/ prioritize work
- Employee must be able to read, write, and speak the English Language
- Working knowledge of energy conservation required, formal training preferred
- Advanced knowledge of life safety systems and procedures for repair and maintenance
- Advanced knowledge of electrical theory and procedures for repairing and maintaining the system
- Advanced knowledge of air-conditioning, refrigeration and heating control systems, including air balance and system calibration procedures for repair and maintenance
- Advanced knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and procedures for repair and maintenance
- Advanced knowledge of procedures, materials and tools used in commercial building remodels and cabinet construction
- Advanced knowledge of uniform electrical and building codes
- Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building and mechanical trades
- Thorough knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials used in the building trades
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to inspect systems and buildings to detect existing or potential problems
