The Role
- Architect and evolve a hybrid (cloud and on-prem) data management, AI capable platform built on microservices and containerized infrastructure.
- Align, rationalize, and optimize technical product portfolio tools and standards
- Design scalable, resilient systems to manage massive data volumes, enabling seamless ingestion, transformation, enrichment, and access across distributed environments.
- Define and govern metadata services architecture for data lineage, cataloging, discovery, and governance.
- Lead the technical transition of legacy monoliths to appropriate level of microservices
- Collaborate with leadership, engineering, DevOps, and product teams to establish standards for observability, scalability, performance, and security across all environments.
- Guide technology choices and frameworks across batch and real-time data pipelines, supporting streaming and event-driven architecture.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in data architectures (e.g., AI, data mesh, lakehouse, container-native data platforms) and incorporate innovations as appropriate.
- Partner closely with customer-facing teams to ensure architectural designs align with enterprise IT needs and deployment models.
What You Need
- 15+ years of software architecture experience with a focus on distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, and large-scale data processing.
- Proven success designing and deploying hybrid data platforms that support both cloud and on-premise environments.
- Expertise in microservice architecture, REST/gRPC APIs, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and service mesh technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of big data frameworks and tools (e.g., Pentaho, Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Flink) and cloud data services (e.g., AWS Glue, GCP Dataflow, Azure Synapse).
- Strong understanding of data modeling, transformation, and governance best practices.
- Deep experience with metadata management systems, schema registries, and data catalogs.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Helm), CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and mentor engineering teams and technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of secure data-sharing architectures, compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and zero-trust principles
- Hands-on background in AI/ML data infrastructure, MLOps, or data ob
