We are seeking a visionary, disruptive, and highly agile Chief Architect to define and drive the next generation of our platform’s architecture. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, you will be our primary AI evangelist, challenging the status quo and seamlessly embedding evolving AI capabilities into our core systems.
Operating in the dynamic Identity, Access Management, and Device Management space you will architect high-scale solutions, conduct deep competitive analysis, and provide strategic technical guidance to leadership. As a deeply experienced technologist and a natural mentor, you will inspire our engineering teams, ensuring we remain nimble, innovative, and ahead of the curve in a rapidly changing technological landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Architectural Disruption & Design: Continuously evaluate our existing platform architecture and suggest/implement transformative design changes to leverage the latest advancements in AI.
AI Evangelism & Strategy: Act as the internal and external champion for AI. Challenge legacy mindsets, drive a culture of disruptive innovation, and articulate a clear AI vision that aligns with our business goals in the Identity space.
Technical Leadership & Guidance: Serve as the trusted advisor and strategic partner to the Head of Engineering and executive leadership, translating complex AI developments into actionable product and engineering strategies.
Scale & Performance: Architect robust, scalable, and secure AI-driven systems capable of handling massive data volumes and high-traffic identity workflows globally.
Mentorship & Team Building: Be a force multiplier for our technical teams. Provide hands-on mentorship, foster a culture of continuous learning, and elevate the technical capabilities of individual contributors and engineering managers.
Competitive Analysis & Market Positioning: Keep a pulse on the rapidly evolving AI and Identity/Directory-as-a-Service markets. Conduct deep technical competitive analyses to ensure our architecture and AI features outpace industry rivals.
Agile Adaptation: Maintain a nimble approach to architecture. Pivot and adapt technical strategies quickly as new AI models, frameworks, and security requirements emerge.
Required Qualifications:
Deep AI Expertise: 15+ years of software engineering/architecture experience with at least 4+ years dedicated to deep AI integrations.
Domain Expertise in Identity Space: Proven experience in the Identity and Access Management (IAM), Directory-as-a-Service (DaaS), Zero Trust, or endpoint management domains (comparable to JumpCloud, Okta, Ping Identity, etc.).
Massive Scale Experience: A strong track record of designing, building, and maintaining distributed cloud architectures and data pipelines that operate reliably at massive scale.
Disruptive & Nimble Mindset: Demonstrated ability to be an "agent of change." You are highly adaptable, agile, and comfortable pivoting architectures to adopt cutting-edge technologies.
Exceptional Mentorship & Leadership: Proven experience elevating the teams around you. You are known as a technical leader who leads by influence, coaches individual engineers, and upskills entire organizations.
Executive Communication: The ability to distill highly complex technical concepts into clear, strategic guidance for the Head of Engineering and C-suite leadership.
Analytical Prowess: Strong capability to dissect competitors' products, anticipate industry trends, and translate those insights into architectural advantages.
Preferred Qualifications:
Public Thought Leadership: Experience speaking at industry conferences, publishing technical papers, or maintaining a strong presence as an AI/Tech evangelist in the open-source community.
Security & Privacy Background: Deep understanding of data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA), AI ethics, and data security—critical for integrating AI into identity systems.
Hands-on Coding Proficiency: While this is an architectural role, the ability to jump into the code (Python, Go, Rust, or similar) to build rapid proof-of-concepts (PoCs) is highly desirable.
Cloud Native Mastery: Advanced certifications or deep expertise in AWS, GCP, or Azure AI ecosystems and cloud-native orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
Experience in High-Growth Startups: A background of successfully navigating the ambiguity and rapid growth phases of a hyper-growth tech company.
