Chief Accountant

At current, we are looking for a Chief Accountant to join our Finance Department in Limassol.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Overseeing the daily activities of the accounting department and ensuring that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Ensuring that all accounting processes align with IFRS and current financial legislation.
• Coordinate preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
• Take initiative in ensuring departmental compliance with Cyprus tax and VAT requirements as well as with accepted accounting principles.
• Hiring, training, and motivating accounting staff members while supervising and delegating department tasks.
• Prepare Management Reports and provide suggestions in terms of expenses optimization and revenue and cashflow management.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures and internal control to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Keeping informed about the latest developments in the finance industry.
  

Requirements for the position:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent.
• Holder of ACCA, ACA or CPA accounting professional qualification
• A minimum of 8 years post qualification experience including at least 3 years in a similar position. Experience in similar industry will be considered an advantage.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a top-tier audit firm preferably with the Big4.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS standards.
• Experience with direct and indirect Cyprus taxes preferably in the real estate and construction industry.
• Excellent knowledge of MS office, experience with accounting software and ERP systems, preferably with SAP Business One.
• Strong organizational, management and leadership skills (experience with leading a team of at least 10 people).
• Able to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• High attention to detail with a mindset towards process improvement, internal controls and automation.
• Excellent written and verbal English and Greek communication skills.
