At current, we are looking for a Chief Accountant to join our Finance Department in Limassol.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Overseeing the daily activities of the accounting department and ensuring that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensuring that all accounting processes align with IFRS and current financial legislation.
- Coordinate preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
- Take initiative in ensuring departmental compliance with Cyprus tax and VAT requirements as well as with accepted accounting principles.
- Hiring, training, and motivating accounting staff members while supervising and delegating department tasks.
- Prepare Management Reports and provide suggestions in terms of expenses optimization and revenue and cashflow management.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures and internal control to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Keeping informed about the latest developments in the finance industry.
Requirements for the position:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent.
- Holder of ACCA, ACA or CPA accounting professional qualification
- A minimum of 8 years post qualification experience including at least 3 years in a similar position. Experience in similar industry will be considered an advantage.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a top-tier audit firm preferably with the Big4.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS standards.
- Experience with direct and indirect Cyprus taxes preferably in the real estate and construction industry.
- Excellent knowledge of MS office, experience with accounting software and ERP systems, preferably with SAP Business One.
- Strong organizational, management and leadership skills (experience with leading a team of at least 10 people).
- Able to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- High attention to detail with a mindset towards process improvement, internal controls and automation.
- Excellent written and verbal English and Greek communication skills.
