Job Title: Chief Accountant
Location: Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
About the role:
This role is responsible for managing end-to-end accounting, tax compliance, financial reporting, and internal controls in line with VAS, IFRS, and company policies. The position supports business planning, provides financial insights, and ensures regulatory compliance, with a strong focus on accuracy, governance, and process improvement. Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is highly preferred.
How you will contribute:
1. Accounting & Compliance
- Oversee and ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing in compliance with VAS/IFRE and group accounting policies (
- Prepare statutory financial statements and liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and manage account reconciliations, accruals, and provisions
2. Tax & Regulatory
- Ensure full compliance with Vietnamese tax regulations (VAT, CIT, PIT, FCT)
- Coordinate with local tax team, external tax advisor to prepare and submit all required tax filings and handle tax inspections and audits
- Coordinate with external tax advisors to manage risk and optimize tax planning
3. Controlling & Business Support
- Support FP&A in budget control, revenue, variance analysis, and cost monitoring
- Collaborate on financial reporting for internal stakeholders (monthly dashboards, KPIs, cash flow forecasts...)
- Provide accounting input to commercial initiatives, product costing, and distributor schemes
4. Governance & Internal Controls
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate policies and SOX/internal audit requirements
- Lead initiatives for process improvements and system automation where possible
5. Transfer Pricing
- Prepare and maintain transfer pricing documentation in compliance with Vietnamese TP regulations
- Coordinate with regional and global teams to validate intercompany transactions, pricing, and margin compliance
What you bring to Takeda:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; professional certifications such as ACCA or CPA are a plus
- Possession of a Chief Accountant Certificate issued by the Ministry of Finance (mandatory)
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 3-5 years in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
- Strong knowledge of VAS and tax regulations, with exposure to IFRS or international reporting standards
- Prior experience in Controlling or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is an advantage
- Proficient in systems such as SAP, Concur, Workiva, etc.
- Strong command of English, both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented, with high integrity and the ability to perform well under pressure
