We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to oversee the accounting operations at indaHash. The Chief Accountant will ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported in a timely fashion and will play an active role in helping to develop and implement the company’s overall accounting strategy.
The challenges you will meet as the Chief Accountant:
- Close cooperation with CFO and IDH management regarding finance department set-up
- Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including aged AR, AP, accruals, and provisions
- Monitor the full trial balance and maintain ownership of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are fully supported
- Apply basic consolidation principles across several legal entities
- Review tax returns, including VAT and income tax
- Maintain daily control of accounting systems to ensure complete and accurate financial data in line with internal procedures
- Ensure proper functioning of internal controls within areas of responsibility
- Manage intercompany transactions and resolve any mismatches
- Coordinate with Shared Services and other key functions (AP, AR, Treasury, Compliance, and Tax)
- Follow up on aged accrued sales and cost of sales with relevant departments to ensure timely resolution
- Review AR and AP ageing reports and take appropriate actions
- Monitor monthly foreign exchange revaluation and related gains/losses
- Post and adjust general expense accruals as needed
- Review and post journal entries prepared by direct reports
- Define processes and service level agreements (SLAs) with the Shared Services Team to ensure efficiency
- Liaise with external auditors and lead the annual audit process
- Supervise and support the day-to-day work and development of direct reports
Requirements:
- Polish at the C1 level is a must
- English at C1 level
- 7 - 10 years previous relevant experience
- Degree in Accounting/Finance
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations (including Withholding Tax) and standards of international accounting
- Strong management and organisation skills in building and controlling of external accounting offices
- Good knowledge of accounting consolidation of FS
- Good MS Office skills and robust capabilities in MS Excel
- Proactive approach, accuracy, strong organisational skills, strategic thinking abilities
- Good communication and teamwork, efficiency, innovation
- Former experience with multinational companies and accountancy regulations would be welcomed
- Previous Audit Experience is a Plus (in Audit Firm)
- Thorough working knowledge of IFRS is a big plus
- Experience in the brokerage and trading industry would be an asset
- ACCA or other financial / accounting certificate would be an asset
