The Cheerleading Director is responsible for overseeing the high school cheerleading program, including managing practices, coordinating performances, organizing events, and fostering a positive, supportive, and inclusive team environment. The director works closely with students, school administration, and parents to ensure a successful cheerleading program that promotes school spirit, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive cheerleading program that aligns with the school’s mission and athletic department goals
  • Organize tryouts and select team members based on performance, skill, and attitude. Set performance goals for the team and individual cheerleaders
  • Schedule and lead practices, ensuring the safe execution of stunts, routines, and activities
  • Ensure that all cheerleading activities are conducted in accordance with safety guidelines, school policies, and state regulations
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to cheerleaders, helping them improve their skills in stunting, tumbling, and choreography
  • Encourage leadership, teamwork, and positive behavior among team members. Address student concerns, conflicts, or disciplinary issues in a supportive and constructive manner
  • Plan and coordinate cheerleading performances for school events, such as pep rallies, football games, basketball games, and other athletic or school-related activities
  • Collaborate with athletic directors, coaches, and other staff to ensure smooth integration of the cheerleading team into events 
  • Maintain regular communication with parents, school administrators, and other stakeholders

 
What You’ll Need:
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 2+ years of prior experience as a cheerleading coach or director, preferably at the high school level
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. 
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.  
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.

Skills Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
