Key Responsibilities:
- Scrutiny Assessment Handling
- Manage scrutiny assessments including preparing detailed responses to various notices
- Appeals and Submissions
- Draft, prepare and file appeals, submissions, and paperbooks before the Hon’ble CIT(A) and/or Hon’ble ITAT.
- Drafting Tax Opinions
- Prepare technical opinions on various matters related to Direct Tax and International Tax.
- Liaising and Briefing Senior Counsel
- Assist and brief senior counsels on complex litigation matters, including providing detailed background and case files.
- Tax Research
- Conduct in-depth research on direct tax matters, judicial precedents, circulars, and notifications relevant to ongoing matters or advisory projects.
- Documentation & Work Papers
- Assist team leads in collecting, organizing, and preparing necessary documentation and working papers for assessments and appeals.
- Communication & Reporting
- Proactively identify and communicate significant developments, deadlines, and issues to managers and partners.
- Client Service
- Support in delivering quality services to clients across multiple industries while ensuring compliance with firm and professional standards.
- Project Execution & Quality Control
- Support the Partner/Superior in implementing projects as per agreed timelines and maintain high-quality work in accordance with internal guidelines.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory
- Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of post-qualification experience in:
- Handling assessments
- Drafting appeals and submissions before CIT(A) and/or ITAT
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Tax provisions and related accounting principles
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent drafting and communication skills
- Strong research and analytical abilities
- Problem-solving mindset
- Good interpersonal and team collaboration skills
