Requirements

Qualification:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

- Professional qualification in shipping/maritime operations, such as ICS or an equivalent recognised maritime qualification, would be an advantage.

- Strong working knowledge of Charter Party and post-fixture operations, supported by relevant professional training or practical industry experience.

- Digital and AI proficiency, with the ability to effectively use AI-enabled tools for document review, drafting, analysis and process improvement.

Work Experience : Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in Charter Party processing, vetting, drafting, chartering operations or a closely related maritime commercial operations function.

- Minimum 2 years of hands-on CP-Desk or equivalent Charter Party experience, with demonstrated ability to independently handle CP audits, CP drafting/draws, strategic accounts and quality-critical processing.

- Experience working with AI-assisted document processing, automation or digital maritime workflows would be advantageous, particularly where the candidate has contributed to process improvements or efficiency gains.

Skill & Knowledge : Charter Party Expertise: Strong knowledge of Charter Parties, recaps, riders, amendments and related contractual terminology, with the ability to interpret and apply CP terms accurately.

- AI & Digital Proficiency: Practical ability to work with AI tools for CP auditing, drafting, comparison and analysis, including recognising AI limitations, validating outputs and refining workflows for improved accuracy and efficiency.

- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to identify contractual inconsistencies, errors and process gaps, while applying sound judgement to resolve issues and support junior team members.

Daily Productivity Independently delivers a daily target of minimum 3 CP-Audits and 3 CP-Draws or equivalent, using a combination of AI-assisted tools and traditional CP vetting and drafting techniques while maintaining accuracy and turnaround expectations.

Training and development

Cross train employees in various styles of CPs to ensure smooth flow of work to cover leaves and absenteeisms.

Strategic Account Management Independently manages a minimum of two strategic accounts, taking ownership of their CP requirements, priorities, quality, turnaround times and customer-specific processes.

AI Utilisation & Process Improvement Demonstrates the ability to work effectively around AI models, identify their limitations and provide practical feedback to improve prompts, workflows and outputs. Proactively identifies opportunities for process optimisation, automation and efficiency gains within CP-Desk operations
