Position Overview:Finning Canada is looking for a Chargehand Journeyperson Mechanic - Drills & Shovels to join our Integrated Mining Team (IMT) servicing customers throughout BC and the Yukon. In this role, you will provide service support for HMS/ERS/DRS/Diesel Drill machines, and hydraulic systems (diagnosis, failure analysis, system assessment and adjustments).

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:

  • Deliver Technical Service Support and crew direction for HMS/ERS/DRS/Diesel Drill machines, both remote and on site

  • Support on site electrical & hydraulic system diagnosis, failure analysis, system assessment and adjustment

  • Machine health monitoring via CAMP (Control and Monitoring Platform for HMS Shovels), update CAMP system (BCS 3 / Servo Controller/Drive Controller/Auxiliary Controller

  • Provide Service letter assessment, and monitoring of machine for eligibility in conjunction with HMS Product Reliability personnel.

  • Customer PM Documents review and editing, ensuring machine vulnerabilities are covered by routine Preventative Maintenance plans.

  • Offer Dealer Support Network (DSN) assistance to customer, obtaining factory guidance for repairs and questions.

  • Enhance relationships with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team

Qualifications:

  • Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician Certification (Red Seal Off Road)

  • Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract

  • 5+ years demonstrated experience with Drills, Shovels and Electric Ropes (CAT an asset)

  • Familiarity with reading electrical schematics, prints and working knowledge of the Electrical Code

  • Solid computer proficiency including CAMP, CAT ET, VIMS and experience with BCS 3 & Controllers (Servo/Drive/Auxiliary)

  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer relation skills, possess a strong business acumen and can communicate effectively
