Chapter Lead, Data Discovery & Experience

Our mission is to make APIs and Data easy to discover, understand, and use. To support that journey, we are looking for a Chapter Lead who is passionate about developing people, building capabilities, and creating great experiences.

You will coach and develop talented professionals while helping shape the future of Data Discovery, APIs, Data Products, and AI-enabled experiences at If.

As Chapter Lead, you will develop the people, practices, and capabilities within the Data Discovery & Experience chapter.

You will combine people leadership with technical leadership, coaching chapter members while helping establish standards, ways of working, and technical direction.

Working closely with Product Managers, Architects, and engineering teams, you will help ensure our APIs, Data Products, and Data Discovery capabilities deliver real value to users and the business.

You are an excellent communicator in English and can make complex technical concepts understandable and actionable for both technical and business stakeholders.

You are passionate about agile ways of working, continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of learning, curiosity, and professional growth.

The Data Discovery & Experience team brings together people with business, product, and technical backgrounds to improve how APIs and Data are discovered, understood, and used across If. We work using agile ways of working and collaborate closely with teams across business and technology domains.

The team is part of a larger tribe with the mission to provide common API, Data, and IAM capabilities that enable If's business to grow in a secure, scalable, and compliant manner. We support both internal teams and external partners through technology, products, processes, training, and governance.

You are passionate about helping people succeed and creating an environment where individuals and teams can thrive.

You combine technical curiosity with a product mindset and enjoy connecting business goals, user needs, and technology. You are comfortable navigating both strategic discussions and practical challenges, and you see opportunities where others see complexity.

You have a strong interest in AI and emerging technologies, understand their potential impact on products and ways of working, and are eager to turn new opportunities into practical value.

You likely bring experience from one or more areas such as software engineering, data, analytics, architecture, product management, developer experience, or platform engineering.

Relevant university degree, preferably within Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data & Analytics, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience is also valued.

• Data Engineering, Analytics, or Data Platforms

• Developer Experience or User Experience

• API Platforms, Data Products, or Data Discovery

People & Capability Leadership

• Lead, coach, and support chapter members in their professional development and growth.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, curiosity, and continuous improvement.

• Support recruitment, onboarding, and capability development within the chapter.

• Build strong communities and encourage knowledge sharing across teams and domains.

Technical & Product Leadership

• Establish and evolve standards, best practices, and ways of working within Data Discovery & Experience.

• Provide technical leadership across APIs, Data Products, and Data Discovery capabilities.

• Promote a product mindset focused on user needs, adoption, usability, and measurable outcomes.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and engineering teams to deliver value for users and the business.

• Contribute to technical strategy and help shape the future direction of the chapter's capabilities.

AI & Innovation Leadership

• Drive AI literacy and AI-enabled ways of working within the chapter.

• Identify opportunities where AI and emerging technologies can improve experiences, productivity, and business outcomes.

• Encourage experimentation and continuous learning while balancing quality, security, and responsible use of technology.

• Stay current with industry trends and help translate new opportunities into practical value for If.
