Change Manager, Workplace

Job Description Summary

As a Change Manager, this individual will be the hands-on lead for consulting projects focused on workplace change management. They will lead the creation and implementation of communications, engagement and procedures for changes in the work environment and workplace culture across the organization. This position will require the use of proven diagnostic techniques for identifying organizational challenges and apply their knowledge of strategic organizational change to achieve increased employee engagement, experience and satisfaction in the workplace.
This person will build and maintain effective relationships with clients and prospects to generate new business opportunities.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Lead Consultant and/or Project Manager on mid-size projects while supporting an extended team on larger assignments.
  • Provide hands-on content creation and leadership for workplace change management consulting projects in various industries and markets
  • As part of a project team, meet with project leadership and the client to define expectations with regard to quality, budget and deliverables.
  • Build, maintain and successfully deliver on project plans that meet our client’s needs within the schedule and budget that has been established.
  • Ensure that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
  • Work with other managers and delivery partners to develop communication plans, procedures, schedules, and other plans for the various elements of a project.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and prospects to generate new business opportunities.
  • Participate in business development and marketing efforts, including proposal writing and interviews.
  • Manage project team activities including provide supervision, training and mentorship to team members.
  • Develop relevant tools or continued improvement of existing ones to support project delivery effectiveness.
  • As project requirements dictate, travel up to 60% of the time within the US.

General Competencies:

  • Ability to summarize project and client experience; write and coordinate engaging client communications and deliverables text clearly and comprehensively; manage quality control review of documents produced by the team.
  • Knowledge of industry practices around workplace change management and a community of change management peers
  • Extensive knowledge and ability to creatively use communications and analytical techniques; distill complex information to the essential elements needed for client decision making; draw conclusions and record them concisely.
  • High quality engagement of clients, partners and prospects; maintain professional, positive, well-documented client communications.
  • Excellent oral communications and written skills; ability to leverage social media for professional uses is desirable.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; additional graphic skills desirable.
  • Ability to organize the project team, files, communications and documentation with high degree of quality assurance.
  • Ability to monitor project progress against budget and schedule; keep project accounting information current; review and send project invoices.
  • Possess collaborative, inclusive, engaging, inquisitive, and creative demeanor.

Education/Certification:

  • Change management certification, Prosci or equivalent.
  • Education or experience in human resources, marketing, psychology and/or organizational development is favorable.
  • Education in Communications, Business, Architecture, Real Estate, Interiors, Environmental Design, Planning or related field.

Prior Work Experience:

  • 5-10 years experience in workplace change management
  • Other experience in workplace design or management
  • Other experience in organizational change management

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $148,750.00 - $175,000.00
