Boeing Commercial Airplanes Digital Engineering is seeking a Change Management Process Engineer (Mid-level & Senior) to join the Manage Change Core Team in Everett, Washington. You will design, sustain, and improve the processes, tools, and training used to manage engineering and production changes from early design through production and in-service support. This is a collaborative, hands-on role working with engineers, program leads, safety and certification teams, manufacturing, and IT to make change management simpler, more consistent, and more reliable.
Why this role matters:
Effective change management ensures products remain safe, compliant, and buildable as designs evolve. In this role you will directly improve how Boeing programs handle design and production changes so deliveries stay on schedule, certification requirements are met, and teams can work more efficiently. Your work will influence change management practices and tools used across multiple airplane programs.
Team and Reporting:
You will be part of the Manage Change Core Team within Digital Engineering and will work closely with team leads, program partners, safety and certification, production engineering, and IT solution teams. Your work supports a multi-year roadmap to sustain current programs and prepare for next-generation airplane programs.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site in Everett, WA.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Analyze engineering design, manufacturing, and product support processes to identify requirements for change management, and identify gaps in processes, tools, and training.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized change management processes, role definitions, and data models that can be applied across airplane programs.
  • Define and document requirements for change management capabilities following system engineering principles and supporting long-term knowledge management.
  • Collaborate with IT and solution architects to specify, prioritize, and deliver tool improvements and system integrations to the program that support change management.
  • Support tool backlog management and Agile execution practices, including sprint planning and work tracking in DevOps tools.
  • Create and deliver training, aids, and knowledge resources to ensure consistent adoption of change processes and tools.
  • Establish and track performance metrics (e.g., quality, cycle time, compliance) and lead continuous improvement initiatives based on data.
  • Identify and assess risks associated with design and production changes; recommend and track mitigation actions.
  • Support audits and compliance activities and implement corrective actions to meet regulatory and quality requirements.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited program.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Mid-Level)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience with aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS9100, FAA).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of product lifecycle management and configuration management principles.
  • Experience with data modeling, SQL, or database management.
  • Familiarity with software/tool development lifecycle and integration with PLM/CCM systems.
  • Systems engineering and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) experience.
  • Experience creating training programs and knowledge repositories.
  • Proven experience with process improvement frameworks (Lean, TOC, CCPM) and establishing process metrics.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps, DOORS, or comparable requirements/work management tools.
  • 9+ years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Senior Level)
