The UBI division of Johnson Brothers is seeking a Chain Account Manager based in St. Paul, Minnesota.  This position is responsible for the business development of major chain customers, analyzing current and potential account business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of key account business development and maintenance of top account relationships.  The candidate should be able to demonstrate skills in creating, presenting and selling value-added beverage marketing programs and initiatives. The Chain Manager must also provide timely, accurate and complete program information, monitor inventories with operations, verify pricing, drive compliance, provide superior customer service as a top priority.  This individual will oversee chain business on Diageo and Moet Hennessy spirits.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Chain Manager is assigned to a key customer(s) and is responsible for increasing their over-all business.
  • Directly works with customers to understand their needs, to influence their management practices and creates and makes presentations as needed in a sales capacity.
  • Monthly meetings to drive performance, gap closing, and opportunities to grow business each and every month.
  • Own the relationship with the customers and not rely on other people to do so.
  • Work with Supplier and Account Executives to create Store Level analysis of current business performance and develop ways to outperform the competition with ads, displays and shelf positioning.
  • Maintain close working relationships with Brand Manager counterparts, communicating account goals and direction and guiding them to business opportunities.
  • Provides sales data analysis and reporting to customers which includes interpreting and disseminating results to customers and helping identify business opportunities.
  • Optimize Assortment and Promotions for assigned customer to drive share and category growth.
  • Collect and maintain monthly pricing to identify bridge buying opportunities.
  • Submit new item forms to all buyers in a timely manner.
  • Provide updates and recaps of ad activities and summaries of meetings to the general managers.
  • Develop new tools to help drive growth from the sales division to ensure the team has all the necessary information well in advance.
  • Proactively able to manage the business to get ahead of any potential business challenges and notice clear opportunities to drive business.
  • Sells "Trade Marketing" concepts, philosophies and innovations to the retailer to drive sales performance.
  • Supports analytic projects from inception through completion; prioritizes and manages multiple projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-year College Degree (preferred).
  • 3+ years of wine & spirits sales experience in a mostly retail chain environment preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, project management and analysis skills.
  • Strong experience completing multiple assignments that are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity in a given time period.
  • Skilled in solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to build reports for management using multiple system platforms to gather data.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office and considered an advance user in MS Excel, internet applications.
  • Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
  • Strong business acumen, organizational understanding, analytical and critical thinking.
  • Proven track record of creating and presenting successful marketing platforms and concepts that drive incremental business across the enterprise.
  • Demonstrated ability to be able to become a consultative partner to ensure Corporate Customers that Johnson Brothers is their distributor of choice.
  • Self- starter and driven personality to be able to achieve corporate account objectives.

The expected pay range for this role is $85,000 - $110,000. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity, union status (where applicable) and alignment with market data.
