You will foster strong working partnerships with the Senior Leaders in Finance , their  management team and Senior Technology Management team, to provide Strategic Direction, Change Delivery & Transformation direction & Architectural Direction.

You will have specialised domain knowledge of Finance Technology, and present key issues and recommendations to the Finance teams. Role remit also extends to ensuring that all Technology control processes are operating as defined and are able to report externally to demonstrate effectiveness.

Purpose statements: 

• Support the definition and delivery of the Corp Function strategy aligned to the wider Technology strategic initiatives
• Responsible for identifying the right innovation for the Finance and down-streaming that to improve the portfolio and Technology teams 
• Work with other partners and suppliers across Finance Technology and wider technology to agree delivery of supplied services, and partner closely with the key business team members, namely the CFT LT & other IT Colleagues
• Be an active contributor to the overall M&G CFT Team, as well as a visible technology leader for Corporate Functions
• Support the M&G Portfolio Manager on wider Technical deliveries of change and management of services impacting all M&G
• Owning the technical design issues and driving resolution through the iteration of the technical solution design
• Assemble and handle presentations/ proofs of concept to key stakeholders, both internally and externally
• Provide reporting to M&G Technology (CITO) showing areas of significant risk, control breaches, audit items or non-compliance within the group
• Promoting adaptive design practices to drive collaboration of feature teams around a common technical vision using continuous feedback
• Own CFT Portfolio Architecture & Roadmap

Expected qualities/ skills:

• Forward thinking
• Ability to identify opportunities for of process simplification/ automation
• Deep understanding of Corporate Functions Architecture & End to End processes
• External Innovation
• Experience of defining application architectures and roadmaps for complex solutions working for all layers of the technical architecture
• Excellent analytical and organisational skills, able to process and present information in a structured format and present in a clear unambiguous way
• A background in delivering solutions that securely span a complex infrastructure domain
• Experience of systems development change lifecycles, best practices and approaches
• Knowledge of hardware, software, application, system engineering, Cloud, microservices, APIs
• Ability to effectively build relationships and collaborate with both IT and non-IT stakeholders

Experience statements:

• Have at least 3 years experience designing Finance or Corp Functions & Data Technology Architecture
• Worked on or lead Transformation programmes
• Significant Experience with Azure Data Tooling. ADF, Databricks , Synapse
• Ability to understand Data Modelling & Data Governance

• Understanding of both Agile & Waterfall delivery Methodology
• Able to articulate, discuss  finance policies with a view to transform associated processes and systems  
• Ability to Lead / Manage 3rd Parties including budget tracking
• Hands on engineering experience in one of more languages & one or more cloud platform
• An appreciation of engineering, Security, Compliance & Service challenges
