Tentative Schedule:
Microsoft Certification Lab: Mondays, Wednesdays, and alternating Fridays 9:20 a.m. - 10:50 a.m.
Position Purpose
The Certification Lab Facilitator supports student learning by supervising and assisting students in self-paced digital certification programs, primarily using platforms such as Certiport and TestOut. This role is responsible for managing the lab environment, ensuring students remain on task, assisting with troubleshooting, communicating student progress when necessary, and entering grades based on performance in the platform. The facilitator supports program instruction, as the curriculum and assessments are administered through the certification softwares.
- Monitor student activity during scheduled lab sessions to ensure appropriate use of technology and time on task
- Assist students with troubleshooting related to Certiport, TestOut, and related equipment
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment
- Record student progress and input grades into the gradebook based on platform-generated results
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, or concerns, as needed
- Collaborate with instructional staff and school administrators to support student success and ensure students are on-track to meet graduation requirements
- Maintain accurate records for all certifications earned each semester
- Enforce school policies and classroom expectations
- Maintain lab cleanliness and report any equipment malfunctions or technical issues
- Attend required training sessions and staff meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Education, Information Technology, Educational Technology, Psychology, or a related field.
- Strong computer literacy and comfort navigating educational software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage a classroom and maintain student engagement
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
Preferred:
- Experience working with high school students in an educational or support capacity
- Familiarity with online certification platforms such as Certiport and TestOut
