🚀 Join fiskaly! Help Us Simplify Tax Compliance for Millions

Millions of people interact with fiskaly every day, even if they never notice it. We're the company behind compliance at the point of sale and e-invoicing — the invisible layer that keeps receipts tamper-proof, fights tax fraud, and helps merchants across Europe ditch paper for good.

It's B2B, it's regulatory, and yes, it's complex. But our mission is simple: make tax compliance easy for everyone. If you want to build the infrastructure that quietly powers commerce for millions — you're in the right place.

💼 The Role

In several of our markets, a fiskaly product cannot go live until it has passed evaluation against frameworks such as the BSI Technical Guidelines or Common Criteria — and every change to the framework or to the product can reopen that question. Someone has to work out what the framework now requires, get the artifacts and product changes ready, and steer the certification through evaluators, consultants, and certification bodies whose timelines rarely match ours.

As Certification Engineer, that is your job, end to end. You derive requirements with Product Managers, prepare the evidence with the development teams, keep the external process moving when the other side goes quiet, and make sure the rest of fiskaly understands what a certification will take before it shows up in a roadmap as a surprise.

A typical week

  • Daily or weekly syncs with a product team (engineers and product manager)
  • Emails and calls with evaluators, certification bodies, and consultants on open certification topics
  • Updating the status of each certification and its open items
  • Writing and reviewing evaluation documentation
  • Customer calls where you join as the compliance expert
  • Working out product requirements together with Product Managers
🛠️ What You'll Do
  • Work with Product Managers to derive what each certification framework requires of the product, and track changes in requirements and evaluation frameworks
  • Together with Product Managers and development teams, prepare the required artifacts and drive the product changes needed ahead of each certification
  • Keep evaluators, certification bodies, and consultants engaged and on schedule; clear blockers before they turn into delays, and propose alternatives when the other side stalls
  • Own certification documentation — evaluation reports, compliance records, and instructional references — with consistent structure, traceability, and version control, so artifacts are reusable and reduce rework
  • Keep a current, single-source record of each certification's status, communications, and outstanding work items, so work continues if you're unavailable
  • Proactively brief development teams and internal stakeholders (product, engineering, IMS/compliance, legal, sales, CS) on status, key communications, and upcoming tasks — in terms each of them can act on
  • Advise Product Managers, engineers, and fellow Certification Managers on certification processes
  • Contribute feedback on proposed regulatory changes and recommendations to government bodies, coordinated with Product Managers and internal stakeholders
  • Represent fiskaly at conferences, industry bodies, and special-interest groups (with colleagues as needed) to build relationships with domain experts and strengthen fiskaly's presence
  • Use AI to analyze regulatory documents, compose evaluation artifacts, and track compliance between implementation and certification requirements
👀 What You Bring
  • 2+ years working with national or international product certification frameworks — Common Criteria, FIPS 140-3, SESIP, EU CRA, or BSI Technical Guidelines — as a certifier, evaluator, or a developer submitting a product for evaluation
  • A strong background in computer science, information security, or a related field, through professional experience, formal studies, or both
  • Strong written and verbal communication: you document and explain complex facts accurately and clearly, and adjust to the audience — evaluator, engineer, or sales colleague
  • The ability to analyze regulatory requirements, evaluate technical options, and produce structured, clearly written documentation others can act on — and to spread that knowledge through the organization rather than keep it in your head
  • Strong organizational skills: you spot problems before they land, structure your own workload, and improve or build internal processes where they're missing
  • Patience with slow, uncooperative, or unrealistic counterparts: you keep proposing options and don't treat silence as a stop
  • An AI-first way of working: you understand what AI does well and badly in software development and compliance, and already use it to analyze regulatory texts, draft evaluation artifacts, and track compliance between implementation and requirements
  • Professional English (our working language)

Strong plus

  • Italian, German, French, or Spanish
✅ What We Offer
  • A team that gives you space to grow, take ownership, and learn from trying
  • 25 vacation days per year if you're based in Austria
  • Flexible working hours and a hybrid work setup
  • Budget for personal and professional development
  • Hardware of your choice (Windows, Linux, or Mac)
  • A company culture that values clarity, well-being, and good work over noise
✨ Why fiskaly?

We work on real problems that have impact, not vanity projects. Our team is pragmatic, direct, and focused on building solid tech for an industry that needs it. We care about how things work, not how they look on paper.

If that resonates, you'll probably enjoy working here.
