General Purpose
The Central Supply Clerk is responsible for managing the facility’s medical and general supply inventory. This role ensures that essential items are ordered, stocked, and distributed efficiently to support resident care and daily operations.
Essential Duties
- Order, receive, and stock central supply items such as briefs, gloves, gowns, and over-the-counter medications
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure supplies are organized and accessible
- Monitor usage patterns and communicate concerns about overuse or shortages to nursing leadership
- Identify and recommend new products or systems that improve efficiency and support staff needs
- Assist other departments with supply-related tasks as needed
- Maintain supply budget and track expenditures
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Understand basic contract terms and use ordering software to manage purchases
Qualification
Education and/or Experience
- Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) preferred
- Prior experience in inventory management or supply coordination in a healthcare setting is a plus
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with ordering systems
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Regular lifting, pushing, or pulling of supply boxes and carts up to 40 lbs
- Repetitive tasks such as stocking shelves and organizing inventory
- Use of carts, ladders, and basic supply equipment
- Ability to move throughout the facility to deliver supplies to various departments
