The CEI/SCS Cost Engineer manager will be a Global Manager responsible to manage a worldwide team in charge of providing economic expertise and synthesis on Seat Frames, Cross car Beam and Safety perimeter for optimizing technical & commercial performance.
Contributes to the company strategy and performance through definition of performance objectives.
The Cost Engineer Manager will assist the worldwide teams with technical services to estimate component prices for the new technologies.
The mission:
- Contribute to the Strategic Vision for Sourcing
- Provide Long-term techno-economical guidance and direction for individuals and projects products
- Stay one step ahead of the product development, challenge and set contacts with components manufacturing and designers
- Hierarchical management of an Organization Unit
- Coach, Lead and Guide the Global team
- Ensure team compliance with Costing methodology and global convergence cost model application
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Research relevant market trends, industrial standards, and innovations
- Support Cost methodology team in build and maintain techno-economical assessment reference for the perimeter
- Support Cost methodology team in build and maintain the regional Model Plant databases
- Lead team to evaluate and negotiate TPC, Vendor tooling, ED&D with Suppliers
- Contribute to CROSS FUNCTIONAL GROUP with Engineering and Purchasing such as SFG, COMMS, D2C
- Perform Competitive Benchmarking and suggest value optimization ideas to programs to ensure the competitiveness of Stellantis solutions
- Multicultural environment covering worldwide perimeter
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related scientific field
- A minimum of 10 years in automotive industry
- Excellent communication skills and ability to create high quality presentation materials and reports for presentation to management levels
- Ability to deal with Negotiation and Conflict in order to challenge and support all internal and external stakeholders
- Good Team Building Soft Skills
- Must demonstrate a high level of organization and ability to track a high number of workstreams to assign to global team
- Proficient in MS Office suite of tools including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- Ability to interface with all levels of the enterprise, across multiple organizations and regions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related scientific field
- A minimum of 5 years in metallic commodities
- Experience in production facilities along with knowledge of metal stamping and welding processes
- Working knowledge of welding line development and the steps required to deliver a solution
- Familiarity with Cost Model elements and how to apply Activity Based Costing to component cost development
