Position Overview:

RTX is seeking a motivated and experienced CDS Platform Services Lead to join the Classified Digital Services (CDS) Team. The Platform Services Lead is responsible for the strategy, delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise technology platforms and shared services. This role leads a team of technical professionals and partners closely with cross functional teams to ensure platforms are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of high performing System Administrators.
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills, with experience working across multiple sites and cross-functional teams.
  • Establish team objectives, priorities, performance expectations, and professional-development plans.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, resource capacity and prioritize work across operational and project demands.
  • Establish service standards, operational procedures, SLAs, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, scalability, and performance of critical platforms.
  • Lead incident, problem, change, and service-request management activities.
  • Identify operational risks and develop mitigation and business-continuity strategies.
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap for platform modernization and continuous improvement.
  • Drive automation, self-service capabilities, standardization, and reduction of manual operational activities.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT, infrastructure, platform engineering, systems administration, cloud, or related technology functions.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading technical teams or managing enterprise technology services.
  • Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience managing production technology platforms and operational services.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing technology vendors, budgets, and third-party services.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Security + Certification, SAFe Certification, or equivalent.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Proficiency with Agile tools such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence to support project management and team collaboration.
  • ITIL certification or demonstrated experience applying ITIL practices.
  • Cloud certification such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience leading cloud migration or platform modernization initiatives.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
