Join our team as a Senior Backend and play a pivotal role in evolving a robust, document-centric AI platform. Our system orchestrates asynchronous AI/ML pipelines, integrates state-of-the-art models (NLP, LLMs, OCR), and powers advanced knowledge workflows for enterprise users. You will lead architectural evolution, drive rapid AI/ML feature integration, and champion system observability and resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and optimize scalable backend services (Python/FastAPI) supporting asynchronous, document-driven AI/ML pipelines.
- Integrate and operationalize new AI/ML models (NLP, LLMs, OCR, etc.), ensuring seamless deployment, versioning, and monitoring.
- Enhance system observability, reliability, and fault tolerance across distributed services and background job managers.
- Lead efforts to scale ingestion, processing, and retrieval of large document corpora, leveraging advanced storage and indexing strategies.
- Collaborate with product and research teams to rapidly prototype and productionize new AI/ML features and document-centric workflows.
- Identify and address architectural bottlenecks, technical debt, and opportunities for system modularization and performance improvement.
- Mentor engineers, establish best practices, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Qualifications & Skills
6+ years of backend engineering experience, with deep expertise in Python (FastAPI, asyncio, SQLAlchemy) and distributed systems.
Proven track record scaling asynchronous AI/ML pipelines and integrating diverse models (NLP, LLMs, OCR, etc.) into production systems.
Strong knowledge of containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and cloud-native deployment patterns.
Experience with observability stacks (logging, metrics, tracing) and designing for high availability and graceful degradation.
Advanced understanding of document storage, retrieval, and indexing (e.g., MinIO, Postgres, vector DBs).
Familiarity with authentication/authorization (JWT, OAuth, Keycloak) and secure API design.
Excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring and technical leadership.
