Details of the Division and Team:    

The Investment Bank (IB) and Corporate Bank (CB) Operations organisation is responsible for the delivery of critical operational services and control functions supporting Deutsche Bank's global franchise. Within this organisation, the Transaction Reporting function is accountable for ensuring the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of regulatory reporting obligations across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory regimes.

The Asia Transaction Reporting Lead is a senior regional leadership position with end-to-end accountability for Transaction Reporting across Asia Pacific. Leading a team of experienced professionals and senior managers across multiple locations, the role provides strategic direction across regulatory reporting operations, governance, controls, remediation, regulatory engagement and transformational change initiatives.

As a member of the Global Transaction Reporting Leadership Team, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the function, influencing global strategy, operating model evolution, regulatory change delivery and technology-enabled transformation. This role provides significant visibility with senior executives, control functions, regulators and global stakeholders, offering an exceptional opportunity to drive meaningful organisational impact while developing as a senior leader within Deutsche Bank.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and overall accountability for Transaction Reporting across Asia Pacific, ensuring delivery against regulatory, operational and strategic objectives.

  • Lead and develop regional leadership teams, including Vice Presidents and their organisations.

  • Own reporting quality, operational performance, control effectiveness and resilience across all applicable jurisdictions and reporting regimes.

  • Represent IB and CB Operations in regional executive forums, regulatory governance committees and senior management reviews.

  • Serve as a member of the Global Transaction Reporting Leadership Team and contribute to global strategy and target operating model development.

  • Define and execute the Asia Transaction Reporting strategy including regulatory change, remediation, platform modernisation, automation and AI-enabled transformation initiatives.

  • Lead regulatory examinations, inspections, thematic reviews, compliance testing engagements and audit interactions.

  • Partner with Technology and Change functions to deliver strategic investments and future-state reporting solutions.

People Management

  • Direct management responsibility for regional Vice Presidents and their teams across multiple Asia locations.

  • Build and execute talent, succession and workforce strategies.

  • Coach and develop future leaders while creating an inclusive, high-performing culture.

  • Lead organisational design and capability enhancement activities supporting future growth.

Your skills and experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience working in financial institutions within Corporate/Investment Banking environment.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transaction regulatory reporting. 

  • Proven experience in Transformation / process re-engineering / AI tool related projects in relation to regulatory reporting; able to identify opportunities, propose practical improvements, and support implementation within governance and control requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience acting as the accountable senior manager for a critical regulatory reporting function, including ownership of regulatory attestations, material reporting incidents, breach management, regulatory remediation, and executive governance reporting.

  • Represent the Bank in industry working groups, regulatory consultations, and market forums, helping to influence and anticipate regulatory developments impacting transaction reporting.

  • Experience in managing teams within Transaction Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Financial Markets Operations or Investment Banking Operations.

  • Experience in engaging with regulators, auditors, internal senior stakeholders and control functions.

  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale regional or global organisations through senior management teams.

  • Understanding of regulatory reporting frameworks, governance, risk and control environments.

  • Experience leading large-scale remediation programmes, regulatory initiatives and complex change portfolios.

  • Ability to understand and express complex ideas and arguments.

  • Discipline and attention to detail around data and regulatory requirements.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and executive presentation skills.

  • University degree or equivalent professional qualification.

  • Understanding of financial markets, post-trade processes and regulatory reporting obligations.

Role is required to be performed on-site at One Raffles Quay office. Relevant vaccination requirements may apply.
