Ferguson is seeking a high-impact Category Specialist – Large Capital Projects to support the profitable growth of the PVF category. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic team and play a meaningful role in the success of our large-scale projects. You will partner closely with Category Management leadership to successfully complete enterprise-wide strategies, optimize supplier performance, and drive category alignment across all business channels.
LocationHybrid (Newport News, VA HQ), in accordance with company policy.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in carrying out the PVF category strategy, including product roadmap development and short-term operating plans, with emphasis on Large Capital Projects.
- Partner with the Sr. Category Management Project Manager to drive data management, project execution, and central initiatives.
- Evaluate and manage supplier performance in alignment with category objectives.
- Build and maintain strategic vendor relationships to support growth and service excellence.
- Analyze and optimize product mix, volume, and margin performance across branded and private label offerings.
- Identify and address underperforming products or programs, including recommendations for rationalization or exit.
- Support pricing strategy development and execution to improve profitability and competitiveness.
- Provide go-to-market mentorship across marketing, merchandising, and sales enablement.
- Ensure accurate and accessible product and vendor program information across the organization.
- Monitor and synthesize market and industry trends to inform decision-making and strategic direction.
- Drive cross-channel integration to ensure consistency and improve category performance enterprise-wide.
- Experience in Category Management, Product Management, or Operations (multi-channel preferred).
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to assess technical product value and performance drivers.
- Effective communicator with experience presenting to cross-functional teams and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence, and complete tasks in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Pay Range:

$3,600.00 - $7,791.30-
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
