Purpose Statement:

The primary responsibility of this position is to identify, develop and manage suitable material & component suppliers in the Asia Region for the Plastics, Resin, and Chemicals (PRC) Categories. Works collaboratively with functional leads in Supplier Engineering and Supplier Quality to develop and implement sourcing strategies for the region. Ensures appropriate controls, oversight, and risk management are in place for supplier management.  


Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and service performance to drive sustainable competitive advantage.

  • Continuously gather and disseminate market intelligence on suppliers, materials, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Conduct supplier benchmarking to identify best-in-class opportunities and elevate supply base performance.

  • Identify, evaluate, and track potential suppliers, maintaining records of those selected for development and those removed from consideration.

  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new suppliers by supporting relevant functional teams and ensuring seamless integration.

  • Negotiate terms and conditions with selected suppliers and execute Master Supply Agreements to formalize partnerships.

  • Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives across quality, service, and cost dimensions.

  • Lead cost reduction initiatives through competitive bidding, strategic negotiation, innovative cost structures, and effective partner management.

  • Assess supply chain resiliency and develop mitigation strategies to address potential risks.

  • Leverage regional trade shows, industry bodies, and digital resources to identify and qualify new sourcing opportunities.

  • Issue Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Request for Information (RFIs), and Requests for Quotation (RFQs); summarize and report outcomes to stakeholders.

  • Provide strategic influence and foster collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to enhance organizational integration and efficiency.

  • Develop and implement key performance metrics to measure and drive supplier and sourcing effectiveness.

  • Promote early supplier engagement to achieve development goals, support project timelines, and manage product cost targets.

  • Ensure compliance with BSC Quality Policy and all documented quality processes, supporting the organization’s commitment to patient safety and product quality.

  • Report accomplishments and communicate strategic initiatives to stakeholders to maintain transparency and alignment.


Job Requirements:

  • Candidate required to process at least Bachelor's degree in any related field.

  • Minimum 10-12 years of Strategic Procurement (Sourcing) experience in Medical Device Manufacturing

  • Proven track record of supplier identification and supplier development in ISO13485 Environments

  • Strategic thinker that is self-motivated & comfortable dealing with ambiguity

  • Proven quantitative abilities e.g., cost modeling, data analysis.

  • Good communication skill, fluent in English (written and verbal).
