As a Category Manager supporting Drug Vision Care Sales, you will be trusted to conduct analysis and synthesize multiple data sources to generate insights and useful recommendations. The Category Manager plays a valuable role in building a strong partnership with our customers by providing strategic, consultative category guidance to deliver growth for the Alcon OTC portfolio and the Eye Care Category in general.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Developing and cultivating business relationships establishing Alcon as the priority partner for all category management needs
- Working to support the buying team at our retailer partners as well as supporting those buying teams interactions with the senior leadership groups at those retailers.
- Delivering consumer, shopper, category, and marketplace insights and trends to guide strategic choices and tactical executions to drive market growth in the short and long term.
- Planning planogram and assortment reviews within the channel’s retailer merchant teams
- Collaborating with the Sales Team to develop, metrics, and strategies to drive long term portfolio growth.
- Conducting analysis using research, category management capabilities, analytical tools, and data visualization to further identify and communicate business opportunities and challenges.
- Providing business reporting, trend analysis, customized reports, and special project work directly to the Alcon Sales Team and retailer buying teams
- Collaborating with multiple internal stakeholders to connect business opportunities and developing strategic and tactical solutions.
- Leveraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills to recognize and anticipate issues and opportunities by elevating analyses beyond reporting and translating insights into action.
- Serving as the functional expert regarding category management to cross-functional team members
What you will bring to Alcon:
- ·Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- 7 Years of Relevant Experience
