Summary:
In this role, you will serve as the category expert for an assigned Orthopedic portfolio (e.g., Total Joints, Neurosurgical, Ortho Power Tools, etc.) of products. You will manage a competitive contract portfolio by driving the strategy and development of the agreements to help providers elevate cost performance and achieve operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of the products, suppliers, and industry trends that impact the portfolio through market research, attendance at industry events, and continuous learning opportunities.
- Lead the end-to-end national bidding process for assigned categories, including strategy development, negotiations, and successful implementation of agreements.
- Provide expertise to various audiences regarding the spend categories managed.
- Develop and manage relationships with members and suppliers to ensure satisfaction through effective, timely communication and problem resolution.
- Create category-specific collateral to share insights, expertise, and best practices with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead periodic business reviews and strategic planning meetings with suppliers for categories in the portfolio, with support from leadership.
Qualifications:
- Relevant degree preferred.
- 2 or more years of relevant experience required.
- Expertise in category management to include contract and RFP knowledge preferred.
- Strategic sourcing or category management experience related to orthopedics preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to small and large audiences.
- Willingness to travel.
Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $77,400.00 to $127,600.00.
This position is also incentive eligible.
