About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Category Manager to oversee the mainstream category. This role will be instrumental in shaping the future of our mainstream assortment, managing vendor relationships, and developing innovative strategies to drive growth and profitability. The ideal candidate will have deep industry expertise in mainstream grocery categories, strong business acumen, and a keen understanding of sourcing, procurement, and vendor management. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about food retail, and wants to make a significant impact on an industry-leading e-commerce platform.
Responsibilities
- Set goals, develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy, optimizing product assortment, pricing, quality to drive sales
- Ensure consistent product supply by collaborating with Supply Chain and Operations teams to monitor inventory and meet targeted vendor fulfillment rates and product availability goals.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiating optimal pricing while continuously seeking new partnerships to expand our category offerings.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with ethnic Merchandising teams to effectively integrate category strategies to achieve company objectives.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and assortment to identify gaps and opportunities for growth that cater to our customers.
- Track sales performance, margins and other key metrics to providing actionable performance analysis to senior leadership weekly, monthly quarterly, and as needed
- Take full ownership of the category’s revenue, P&L, and overall business performance, identifying opportunities for optimization and growth.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of proven leadership experience in grocery category management, sourcing, or procurement, with expertise in mainstream food products.
- Strong experience in vendor negotiation, supplier management, and procurement strategies
- Deep knowledge of food industry trends, supply chain constraints, seasonality, and sourcing options
- Proficiency in data analysis to optimize category performance and ensure long-term growth.
- Passion for food, product innovation, and category expansion, with a proven ability to identify market trends and customer needs.

Compensation Range
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $109,000-129,000
- This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits
- Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location
