About Grover

Founded in 2015, Grover enables consumers and businesses across Europe to subscribe to tech devices and comprehensive technology solutions - from individual smartphones, laptops, and wearables to full corporate device setups. The company offers access to over 1,000 unique tech items on flexible and financially convenient terms. A pioneer of the circular economy, Grover refurbishes and recirculates devices to help eliminate e-waste.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Category Manager to join the Commercial team at Grover, full-time and minimum 3 days per week (Tuesday-Thursday) at our Berlin HQ.

As our newest Category Manager, you will act as the "CEO" of your category, taking end-to-end ownership of its commercial success and strategic direction. You’ll be at the heart of it’s growth, crafting a data-driven roadmap that balances your category’s portfolio selection and expansion with sharp pricing and profitability targets. From negotiating high-impact partnerships with top-tier OEMs to optimizing the entire product lifecycle, your work will directly shape our market footprint. You will bridge the gap between deep analytical insights and creative on-site merchandising to ensure our customers always find exactly what they need.

🎯  What you will contribute:

  • Strategic Category Leadership: Full end-to-end category performance, including portfolio strategy, investment planning, pricing, utilisation, and profitability.
  • A Data-Backed Growth Engine: You’ll architect and execute a data-driven category roadmap that balances growth with healthy margins, ensuring our portfolio is always aligned with customer acquisition targets and market trends.
  • Assortment & Lifecycle Mastery: You will curate a structured product assortment strategy covering active investment, recirculation, and lifecycle optimisation.
  • Partnership Management: You’ll own and build strong OEM partnerships, including commercial negotiations, securing exclusive launches, and unlocking marketing support to amplify your category’s reach.
  • Conversion-Driven Merchandising: You will own and optimize best-in-class on-site merchandising, discoverability, and conversion optimisation for your category.
  • Operational Excellence & Scalability: You won't just manage; you will build. You’ll design the scalable frameworks and processes necessary to turn your category into a high-performing business unit with measurable economic impact.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: You will work cross-functionally to align Finance, Operations, and Marketing to ensure your category strategy is executed flawlessly across every touchpoint.

🤝 What you bring:

  • Commercial Track Record: 3-5 years of experience in Category Management, Strategic Buying, or a high-growth commercial role (ideally within fast-paced E-commerce or Tech environments).
  • P&L Fluency: Strong commercial acumen with proven experience owning or significantly influencing a P&L.
  • Analytical Rigor: A highly analytical mindset, with the ability to easily utilize Excel and Google Sheets to translate data into concrete pricing, portfolio, and investment decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Catalyst: Experience navigating complex stakeholder landscapes, acting as the "connective tissue" between Marketing, Finance, and Operations to get things done.
  • Strategic Negotiation: You are a confident communicator who can hold your own in high-stakes negotiations, building long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with OEMs and external suppliers.
  • Structured Agility: A structured, hands-on approach with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational execution.
  • The "Builder" Mentality: You possess an entrepreneurial itch, with a clear drive to build and scale a business area end-to-end and can seamlessly pivot from high-level strategy to "rolling up your sleeves" for daily execution.
  • Language Skills: You can confidently communicate in English (C1+), and it’s a strong plus if you bring fluent German skills (B2+).

❤️‍🔥 What you will love about us:

  • BVG monthly discount to drive you everywhere in Berlin
  • Mental health support with Nilohealth
  • 1 paid volunteering day per month
  • Physical health support with Urban Sports Club
  • Annual learning budget of 750€
  • 15 remote business days to work abroad
  • Exclusive Grover Tech discount for you & your loved ones
  • Engaging, open office located in Berlin-Schöneberg with regular events, and is dog-friendly
  • A diverse global team of 75 nationalities (and counting!) - genuinely the nicest group of colleagues who will soon become friends

Embark on a rewarding journey with the Grover Rocketship, where your impact is felt, and together, we cultivate a more circular world. 💚

We are looking forward to e-meeting you! 🚀

What We Do

Grover is Europe’s market leader in technology rentals, enabling people to subscribe to tech products monthly instead of buying them. Founded in 2015 by Michael Cassau, Grover’s mission is to create the most innovative ways for everyone – both private customers and businesses – to get the tech they want. With Grover, subscribers get access to a wide range of over 3,000 tech products, including smartphones, laptops, virtual reality (VR) gear, wearables and smart home appliances on a flexible monthly rental basis. Grover’s service allows its users to keep, switch, buy, or return products depending on their individual needs and budget. Rentals are available in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Spain and the United States on GROVER.COM, as well as – in Germany – through Grover’s online and offline partner network, including Europe’s leading electronics retail group, MediaMarktSaturn. Grover is a pioneer in the advancement of the Circular Economy and the number of circulations has been over 500,000 devices. Its business model of renting out tech products to several users across their life cycle allows maximum value to be extracted from each product and reduces e-waste. With a total financing volume of around €1.4bn, and 400+ employees, Grover is one of Germany’s best-funded scale-ups.
