About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Category Manager to join our dynamic team.
The Category Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing a specific category or categories of products or services, driving sales and profitability through strategic planning, market analysis, and effective supplier management.

Key Responsibilities:

Category Strategy Development: - Develop and implement category strategies that align with overall business goals. Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.

Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions. Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.

Product Selection and Management: Select, source, and manage the product assortment for the assigned category. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to ensure successful product launches.

Pricing: Develop pricing strategies to maximize profitability and efficiency. Plan and execute strategic activities to increase customer engagement.

Performance Analysis and Reporting: Monitor category performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and conduct regular analysis to identify areas for improvement. Prepare and present detailed reports on category performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.

Customer Focus: Understand customer needs and preferences, and ensure the category meets or exceeds customer expectations. Gather and analyze customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

Proven experience as a Category Manager or similar role, preferably Indirect categories to include Information Technology, Software, Facilities, Professional Services, MRO, Construction, Marketing, Travel, Logistics.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.

Proficiency in using category management software and tools is a plus.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps

Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity

Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes

Sierra Space offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:$120,552.10 - $165,759.14
