• Strategic and Tactical Sourcing & Procurement:
Develop and implement procurement strategies for plant engineering-related categories,including engineering services, plant machinery/equipment, construction, infrastructure
and technologies. Support will also be required for MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations).
Identify and qualify new suppliers to improve cost efficiency, quality, and service levels.
Conduct market analysis to assess risks and opportunities within the supply chain.
• Supplier & Contract Management:
Negotiate supplier agreements, ensuring best value while meeting operational and sustainability objectives.Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and environmental
standards.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, maintenance, production, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with the business needs.
Support CAPEX projects by sourcing key equipment, materials and services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Assist in budget planning and cost control for engineering procurement activities.
• Process & Cost Optimization:
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function.
Implement best practices in supplier risk management and contract negotiation.
Utilise procurement tools and systems to enhance efficiency and reportingRequirements for the role:
- Minimum 7 years of procurement experience in a similar field (e.g., machinery and plant manufacturing, steel production/fabrication, heavy industries and capital equipment, engineering, and industrial equipment refurbishment projects).
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant procurement experience in industrial or capital project environments
- Experience working with cost breakdown structures and technical RFQs
- Strong technical understanding plant engineering-related categories, including engineering services, plant machinery/equipment, construction, infrastructure and technologies both standard & bespoke requirements
- Proven record of supplier relationship management
- Knowledge of quality standards, tools and processes
