POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Supply Chain Category Management Sr Director and will be located in Findlay, OH. The Category Management Leader provides strategic direction and oversight for enterprise category management activities, leading the development and execution of sourcing strategies across assigned spend portfolios. This role is responsible for delivering measurable business value through cost optimization, supplier innovation, risk mitigation, and strong contract governance, while ensuring alignment with operational priorities and business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for their designated Category Management support function, establishing clear priorities, performance expectations, and accountability while fostering a strong safety culture and continuous development mindset.
- Lead the execution of enterprise category strategies across assigned spend portfolios, incorporating market intelligence, total cost of ownership, supplier innovation, commercial negotiation, risk management, and contract governance.
- Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing Category Management team, strengthening organizational capability through coaching, mentorship, succession planning, and talent development aligned with current and future business needs.
- Serve as the senior relationship owner for strategic suppliers and key internal stakeholders, influencing leadership‑level alignment to drive competitive advantage, improve service and reliability, and enable innovation.
- Align category strategies with operational and business requirements by maintaining a strong understanding of site operations, demand drivers, and transactional supply chain activities to ensure practical execution and measurable outcomes.
- Deliver measurable enterprise value, including cost optimization, cost avoidance, working capital improvement, revenue enablement, and supply risk reduction through strategic sourcing and supplier performance management.
- Establish governance and oversight for category management deliverables, ensuring disciplined execution, cross‑functional collaboration, and alignment with enterprise priorities and performance objectives.
- Lead the resolution of complex supplier, commercial, and risk issues, including escalations impacting business continuity, supplier performance recovery, and contractual or financial exposure.
- Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence by promoting the use of data analytics, benchmarking, best practices, and standardized supply chain systems and processes to enhance decision‑making and effectiveness.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Ten (10) or more years’ business relevant experience required.
- Two (2) or more years’ leadership experience required.
