Job Description

We are seeking an analytical and commercially minded Category Excellence Business Analyst to join our Group Category Strategy team.

Reporting to the GM Group Category Strategy, you'll play a key role in supporting Trade Partner Plans, category reviews and procurement initiatives through high-quality analysis, reporting, governance and stakeholder coordination.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Business Analyst, Commercial Analyst, Procurement Analyst or PMO professional looking to broaden their exposure to category management, trade partner performance, procurement and commercial strategy within a large ASX-listed organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination and governance of Strategic Trade Partner Plans, category reviews and procurement activities.
  • Analyse category, trade partner, procurement, sales, margin, inventory and commercial performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare review packs, scorecards, briefing materials, presentations and decision-support documentation for key stakeholders.
  • Maintain action registers, milestones, risks and dependencies, ensuring progress is tracked and commitments are delivered.
  • Partner with Group Product Category Leads, Procurement and business stakeholders to improve visibility, reporting quality and decision-making.
  • Develop insights and recommendations that help drive category performance, trade partner effectiveness and commercial outcomes.
  • Support governance frameworks, reporting standards, templates and continuous improvement initiatives across the Category Excellence function.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, data quality, processes and ways of working across category and procurement activities.

Qualifications

You are a highly organised and analytical professional who enjoys working with data, driving accountability and influencing outcomes through insights and structured problem-solving.

You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a commercial, analytical, procurement, category, PMO, project coordination or business support role.
  • Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel skills and experience interpreting business data.
  • Experience preparing reports, presentations, dashboards, briefing papers and business insights.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to follow up actions, challenge assumptions and maintain accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • A proactive, curious and solutions-focused approach.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience supporting governance forums, strategic initiatives or structured project delivery.
  • Exposure to procurement, category management, retail, wholesale, supply chain or commercial functions.
  • Experience using Power BI or similar reporting tools.
  • Automotive aftermarket experience (but not required).
