Job Title: Category Development Analyst

About the role:
- Understand our customers and work with the key accounts team to deliver customer led solutions.
- Generate and analyse key information about business, market, competitors customers and shoppers, identifying market trends, key business opportunities and risks.
- Track, analyse and communicate business unit performance against benchmarks, KPI’s and agreed performance objectives.
- Develop the right tools and reports to support the team in the planning and decision making process.
Role Responsibilities:
- Generate and analyse key business information:

Identify information needs. Develop and deploy the right tools to make the information management process easier, faster and better.

Assure the validity of all information, using several information sources (both internal and external)

Develop robust, relevant and commercially viable action plans based on insights sourced from information pulled from both standard reports, ad hoc requests and self-initiated analysis, including the use of external data and competitor intelligence.

Develop and deploy formats, processes and ways of working that improve and simplify sales information, execution KPI’s and trade spend controlling, tracking and analysis.

Analyse key business, market, competitors, customers and shoppers’ information, identifying market trends and business opportunities and risks. Make recommendations to generate/unlock growth and support the team to generate action plans.
- Ensure clear and on-time communication within commercial team:

Coordinate great communication process to assure the understanding and use of information by the development and deployment of best in class reports, tools and plans to guarantee on time communication and understanding.

Monitoring and communicate competitors’ activities allowing Diageo to keep a step ahead.
- Thought partner to organization on analytics, programs, and results. Including ability to push back and influence organization to accept results that counter conventional wisdom.
Experience
- 2-3 years functional experience within FMCG with either supplier or retailer.
- Business analysis/Information management
Qualification
- Commerce or data science tertiary qualification
- Diploma or degree
